There's a "look when sad" folder on my phone (with lots of dimileth in it among other things), which partner saw me look at recently. Since then, whenever I seem down, he shows me dimileth. I laughed so much the first time, but since then I'm just 🥹

After some reforms, Byleth appoints Seteth as her right hand man and joins Dimitri to rule Fodlan. She still helps from the sidelines where needed. Eventually they create a crowned republic and retire, leaving one of their offspring in the now ceremonial monarch position.

I'd like to think that if they have to be apart, it's for a few months. And thanks to warp spells or pegasi/wyverns, they meet each other very often. And that lots of their work forces them to jointly travel anyway, in places that need their help with rebuilding etc.
