I think the UK has stabilisers in place that will prevent the emergence of a far-right, authoritarian government. But their effectiveness depends on the courage of those on the moderate right standing up to say "no". Watching the mealy-mouthed Chris Philp just now makes me doubt that they would.

Here’s where it gets personal for me. When I was 9, I started experiencing suicidal ideation … disinterested in living, and at least some of the time contemplating death and how it might happen … It’s easy to imagine how I would have used programs like these chatbots.

His life would not have “eroded” if he didn’t want to sleep with minors. I have no sympathy for these men. I have a lot of sympathy for the girls/women that they affected though. Their voices should never be silenced.
