Hey y'all! You'll notice I am now ✨️sparksofstarlight✨️ here and on AO3! This change from acciomagic has been difficult as it's been my creative pseudonym since I was a teenager, however, I feel really good about this change and hope it's not too hard to remember!

Fully submerged but her hair is completely dry. Sure, sure, not the first time this has happened. I know it's because of the wigs and stuff but like, give me my drowned cat moments, ok???? It's more romantic that way. (Plus it ruins the moment imo when they're 95% dry after getting 100% soaked.)

If I've learned anything in my short time in the Asian-Drama rabbit hole, it's that these writers know EXACTLY what they're doing because they almost always include water rescues, which are fucking peak cinema no matter the era. Y'all know where it's at! (And if no water rescue, then a rain scene!)

These huge crowds are brilliant, but I'm also loving the smaller crowds of several hundred people in tiny, rural towns and cities. Especially how many older white folks that turned up! Like yes, see, just cause we live in a Red state does not mean we don't give a shit or we support these bastards!

them clean too, but I'm exhausted. It isn't as bad as our first experience with these fucks, and for that I'm grateful; We caught it a lot sooner than before. I'm so grateful I was able to save my 10lb bag of flour, and that it looks like we might be able to save the pasta and most of our rice 5/

even know everything we had to throw out because my husband and I did it together, but I know all my Aldi's cocoa is gone and so are all my twisted shut bags of powdered sugar. So much flour, both for food purposes and to make play dough for my kid. We still have to take down the shelves and wipe 4/

toss out half a bag of rice and the brand new bag was able to go into a container my mom had just bought for us after finding it on sale. I still had to look away when it got tossed. Food waste has always bothered me, but once you experience food insecurity? It's like a knife to the gut. I don't 3/

I refused to throw away the boxes of pasta we have, so we've put it all in ziplock bags and we're freezing it just in case. We didn't *see* anything in the pasta, but you can't see the eggs, so. I need containers I can start keeping my pasta in because this was ridiculous. Thank fuck I only had 2/

We still have to wipe everything remaining down & rip off (& sharpie on) canned food labels, but it was fucking painful to throw out food that was not expired. Sugar (cane & powdered) dried potatoes, flour, cereal, protein powder chocolate milk that they were INFESTED in somehow despite the lid. 1/

Ellery's (a white person) hand and inner wrist held out to show a pantry mother larvae crawling down her forearm. It's very tiny and yellowish green in color. Despite looking innocent, this little fucker and it's kin are why we had to toss so much food.

A yellow pantry with four long white wire shelves that is mostly empty. On the top shelf is a blue reusable fabric bag full of plastic baggies that says "Beach Planet" in white text, next to it is a plastic ziplock bag with medicine and scattered in front are liquid white glue bottles. On the second shelf are three reusable canisters: one with brown sugar on top of one with granulated sugar, next to a tall one that has maybe two inches of flour inside. On the other side is an empty plastic container next to another that has a ziplock bag full of ziplock bags and another full of canning lids and rings. The third shelf is empty save a random paintbrush. The fourth shelf has canned goods in one corner and in the other an assortment of things: expired Karo syrup and corn syrup I couldn't make myself throw away because they haven't been opened, nestle cocoa powder, olive oil cooking spray, aluminum free baking powder, a small bottle of olive oil, vanilla, corn starch, and baking yeast in glass jars with blue lids.

On the floor there are more canned goods, a case of yellow body armor, and a tuberware container of unopened cereal bags, ziplock bags of pasta, some crackers, and an unopened bag of brown sugar and powdered sugar each.

We don't have credit cards and I don't have a huge support system to fall back on. My MCAS means my diet is really limited and our local food pantry does not allow us to pick and choose, which means handling/bringing home potential allergens. We just had to throw out a ton due to pantry moths. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Just got word that we will not receive our SNAP/EBT benefits for November if the assholes in D.C. don't put an end to the shutdown. I have zero idea how I will be feeding my family of three* if this happens. I'm really fucking trying not to panic, but I am. I feel like I'm going to throw up.
