I like the gold cover better. It's more book-appropriate. But people seem to OVERWHELMINGLY prefer the blue cover, which is an adequate fit. It's graphically so strong. Way easier to see the details. But...lovely gold cover with huge elk :')

I keep getting this impulse to go to town on my hardback copy of Uzumaki with colored pencils, but I’m bad at coloring and certain I’d regret it.

like i did not ask for opinions. thanks. but also, 1) my body mods are nobody's business but mine, 2) moms are allowed to have mods too, and 3) imagine being so shameless about having nasty opinions. people need to keep those embarrassing thoughts locked down. yikes.

i neverrrr have posts go viral on FB, but i do still post on there for friends/readers who haven't left. a post about my new vertical labret piercing - and how my 10yo doesn't like it - randomly went viral. 241 comments when i finally noticed and closed it.

Many days I walk past this little farm with a couple horses and goats and livestock guardian dogs. The goats are tall, like antelope sized, but very cute. I think they’re starting to recognize me because one of them came out to say hello even in the rain. I tossed an apple off a nearby tree to her.

I really wish various litmag submission tracker websites had actual granular subgenre separation for fantasy

They're like "it can be dark/absurd/mainstream" and i'm like, but what about Magical Realism vs Tolkienesque vs Arthuriana vs Contemporary vs...

These mags do not want all of the above.

Personally, I think that horniness and sex-positivity was part of Star Trek long before Berman tried to turn it into gross heteronormativity, and that horniness among the youth often helps them challenge old beliefs and learn more about themselves. But I do wonder how the show plays it.
