You are misunderstanding what I said, as have most people. I’m not against sex in the show. I’m saying the sex shouldn’t be a marketing focal point. It hints at lack of substance in the plot

Marketing sex in the trailer is titillation. You can absolutely have both. But is this show primarily about that couple? No. It isn’t necessary to show that to draw people to the show. Let the sex happen, but it shouldn’t be a marketing focal point

Time? Ok, if we’re being technical. But that couple doing what they were doing got more time than Tilly and about more time than the “awkward” commenting girl with the Doctor. A trailer tells us what they want us to see and know to get us excited about a show. They marketed sex between characters

It’s fine for it being an academy show. I don’t mind some different storytelling, but I do mind swapping plot for sex. I believe both can exist in a good show, but the reliance on showing us that it will happen seems to show a lack of plot substance

It’s just saying (like every movie that shows sex scenes in the trailer) “Look! We’re gonna have good looking people do it and you can see it if you watch this movie/show!” It’s a cheap marketing tactic to get eyeballs

I don’t CARE about that aspect. It’s making sexy times a focal point in a trailer. Tasteful, baudy, whatever isn’t the point. It’s shouldn’t be a selling point of Star Trek. I don’t care if it’s in the show. It’s fine to be there. But marketing the sex isn’t showing me great storytelling. Cont.

They are marketing the sex. They made it “a point” in the trailer. Numerous times. And the clunky conversation, “When I lose control, I can hurt people.” “I’m not afraid” or however it was said was telling us that their sex is a major plot point bc “someone could get hurt”
