I'm an indie dev currently working on a hybrid RPG and visual novel called South of the March. It's set in the same fantasy world as a text adventure I released a while back, this time with hand-drawn art and turn-based combat!

I watch enough zero-budget horror that I'm pretty comfortable with bad acting, but this movie threads a needle of earnest Garth Marenghi vibes that has left me truly impressed.

It's so cool that one guy can blow more money than the world has ever seen on something no living human genuinely thought was a good idea and nothing will happen to him, and other people get fired when their till comes up short.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

I ordered Tylenol on Amazon and as a result I was offered a $10 off coupon for an "Amazon One Medical Pay-per-visit virtual care service" which I think is one of the more dystopian things I've ever seen.

America does not have capital punishment for selling or smuggling drugs and none of these people were arrested or tried. There could have been mountains of cocaine in open view on the deck of the boats and it still would have been murder of unarmed civilians.
Rand Paul just posted this letter from the Coast Guard confirming that 1/4 of the boats they stop carry no contraband. The likelihood that Hegseth & Bradley ordered the murder of innocent civilians is very high.

I've been playing my own game and I just want to share this tidbit from the Elections feature, which was added in 2019. Not saying I'm an oracle, but I'm also not not saying it.

Uber Eats constantly trying to cross-promote with Uber is funny because I feel like they're fundamentally at odds with each other. If you're using one, you're kind of by definition not using the other.

I'm a huge idiot who has watched a lot of Bigfoot movies, and I think this comes closer to pulling it off than perhaps any other I've seen.

I'd make them return to the VHS era of constant annual horror sequels. Hereditary 6: Paimon in Space. The VVitch sequel set in Manhattan on Christmas. New Babadook where you find out there's a bunch of Babadooks.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

New trend I'm noticing: people ask "is it AI?" to mean "is it real?" Then they assume that if it's not AI, that means it's real, no longer conscious of the fact that things can be fake without being AI.

Somebody liked my letterboxd review of Wishmaster (1997). Neat! Go to their profile, I wonder what else they're into.

I'm now on the third one and a new guy is playing the Djinn. His vibe is much more "sex pest college professor" than "comically sinister actual devil." I don't love it.
I've somehow never seen any Wishmaster movies and I'm realizing like five minutes in that this is a huge oversight.

Payment processors are hand-wringing about NSFW content when they could crack down on sports betting instead and actually do some kind of social good.
The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

Just called to cancel my internet and I honestly feel bad for that person. The amount of arguing they do with you... I can't imagine how mad some people must get at them.

Critters is one of those franchises that works a lot better as "VHS cover you see at Blockbuster as a small child" than as actual movies.

One of the most foundational things I read as a kid was Noam Chomsky talking about conspiracy theories and how government coverups are generally fake, because in reality all the horrors are written down and well-documented right out in the open, and it's just that nobody really cares.

I've at the Whole Cake Island arc in One Piece and I'm so glad they're actually giving Sanji a plotline. I deeply hope there's something equivalent for Brook later, because he's the only truly undercooked part of this thing to me.

The best thing about schlocky 70s-80s Italian zombie movies is that I might've seen all of them, but also I don't know which ones I've seen, and also it doesn't really matter.
