Life update—I started going to the local bar a couple times a week and have met such cool people and I’m getting back into music and one of the bartenders is so hot and smart and life is starting to feel good again

Actually I realized yesterday was 2 months post Helene and my body remembered and I didn’t!

Weird animal of the day: the blue morpho butterfly.
Those shiny blue wings, NOT BLUE!
If you ground up the butterfly and sifted through the remains, there would not be a shred of blue in it.
They're blue for the same reason bubble and oil slicks are blue: thin film diffraction!

I am trying to take public transportation more instead of driving. I am trying to eliminate my spending at Walmart and Amazon entirely. I am trying to use less plastic. I am trying to eat less meat and never get fast food. These tiny acts of resistance add up. I recommend you all try to do the same.

If you, as a climate scientist, are not openly supporting a ceasefire in Palestine I will never take you seriously. The US is preying on foreign oil, the sheer env destructions and pollutants/ghg’s released with bombs dropping. Disease spread & lack of clean water. It’s all connected.
