Rwanda and DRC sign a peace accord in the presence of Donald Trump in Washington. The event, however, is a perfect charade done to flatter Trump. In fact, fighting continues unabated.

The pipe bomb suspect getting arrested by this dumbshit iteration of the FBI after 5 years just proves even more that the people in power over the last few years cared so little about getting to the bottom of the attempted coup of January 6th and just wanted to move on and hope things worked out.

Asked about Himes' comments about this video, Cotton says, "I didn't see anything disturbing about it."

Yeah it's pretty clear that Cotton was calling for the mass murder of Black people by the US military in that op ed. No other way to square these two.
This also really ought to put the entire “send in the troops” editorial episode in a much clearer context for everyone who decided the important takeaway was an “out of control” newsroom rather than y’know a sitting Senator calling for people to be shot in the street.

This bloodthirsty, crazed assessment from Sen. Tom Cotton trying to excuse war crimes pairs nicely with all the denunciation of people who took issue with Cotton calling for no quarter against BLM protesters in 2020.
Q: What did you see in the second strike?

Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

Against them: Centuries of philosophy and religion, prominent international treaties, the US military code of conduct, precedent set by prosecution of German and Japanese war crimes, basic human morality, and geopolitical strategy.

US Citizen detained by ICE: Clearly it didn't matter that I was a citizen, a veteran, or identified who I was. They ignored everything I said. They just broke my window and dragged me out. I let them know I was a veteran, I wasn't doing anything wrong, just trying to get to work.

What Kash Patel, a Jan 6 suspect, didn't say
Reminder about Jan 6:

it really happened
It was a horror
140+ police were injured
A range of violent weapons were used by attackers
Chants to hang Mike Pence were heard
There was a gallows and guns
Pipe bombs diverted police as mob approached

#GVerse #BreakingNews Irony. In an insane moment, Kash Patel says "when you attack our nation's capitol, you attack the very being of our way of life. We will always refute it and combat it."

Except when you pardon 1,500 attackers.
These are unserious people.

The reason the judiciary functions is because judges understand that despite everyone being human beings who hold grudges and have stupid opinions and peccadilloes and flaws, there is a sense that you have to justify what you're doing on more than "because I say so."

This Court is undermining that.

It's not just liberal judges they're doing this to. They're doing this to plenty of conservative judges too; judges who actually spent weeks and weeks poring over the details and with their arms deep in the guts of thousands of pages of documents and days of testimony.

Those judges are pissed.

I don't think the Justices understand the extent to which they are playing with fire. The more they do this, the more District Courts will engage in open disrespect of the Supreme Court, because what other response is there to open disrespect directed at them? That's bad for the Judiciary, period.

The three Democratic appointees, in an opinion by Justice Kagan, dissent.

I'll post the ruling shortly.

This bill is just a carrot to give double continuing education credit to physicians to learn about perimenopause & menopause healthcare. It also requires insurers to cover appropriate care.
My low dosage hormone replacement brought my hip bone density up quickly. Everyone should know about options
"...Newsom has vetoed our menopause bill, not one but two years in a row. But that's OK, because he's not going to be governor forever. And with the way he's overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us in midlife, he probably should not be our next president either."
