It finally happened, people - I have made it as a writer! Philip would liken to offer me a free visibility audit for my anthology, Beneath Ceaseless Skies #405!! What do you think, @scott-h-andrews.bsky.social, should I take him up on it? 😂

“Screwfly Solution” and “Love is the Plan and the Plan is Death.”
If anyone else is digging Pluribus & are interested in other stories that significantly overlap with its themes, may I suggest:

"The Screwfly Solution" - James Tiptree, Jr.
"The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect" - Roger Williams
"Three Body" - Liu Cixin
"Blindsight/Echopraxia" - Peter Watts

I love whenever articles like this are all “SEE THE UNREASONABLE ANGRY DEMANDS OF THIS SJW TEACHER” and the teacher’s comment are always “please actually cite sources and try not to call your classmates demonic”

Another year at the Japan Writers Conference. Not presenting this time, but it feels very good to have a book in the book room.

Usually laugh at spam, but the stuff on Ao3 gives you that slimed feeling, like a condescending lit fic fool in a writers workshop who tells you that your rocket ships are “so creative.”

Apropos of nothing, Far From Heaven has some of the most beautiful uses of color in a movie I've ever seen. It's stuck with me for decades how beautifully color is used, and how it practically becomes another character in the story.
