I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

First year posting on ao3 (2021) vs this year. I know people can write more than this easily, but I'm an extremely slow writer, and focus on quality over numbers. I'm proud of myself for doubling my first year's word count, and am hopeful for 2026 creatively.

If you are worried this is too big an executive function barrier you can go to a pharmacy and they will probably just jab you. That is what I did.

Go to your doctor and get your measles titers checked to make sure you are still immune and if not get re-vaccinated. It’s more and more likely all of us are going to eventually come in contact with it.
The thing about measles is that it’s the only known virus that triggers immune amnesia - it causes your immune system to forget everything it has previously learned. Meaning you essentially reset to zero and are now at risk of basically everything.

I wrote two that are kinda companion pieces because they're opposite povs of the same encounter. They're my longest pieces, and I poured my heart into conveying every emotion I wanted to express. They were milestones for me personally and very near and dear to me, though they didn't get many views.
