Ruin a science fiction story by replacing a character:

Foundation, but instead of Hari Seldon it’s Nicholas Nassim Taleb.
maybe I’ve been watching too much Foundation, but….
Way too many people seem convinced that the day Trump dies all this somehow goes away.

People will snap out of it. No one will be able to harness his base.

I think this is simply wrong. But I also think Trump will still be “speaking” to MAGA after he’s gone.
I would love to see him in a lot of Turkish Airlines ads.

I’m not as familiar with it — would it mean they could start using the military to carry out arrests for deportations?

If you’re going to say that, the least you can do is be logically consistent and oppose nominating him on the grounds that you might accidentally make Kavanaugh’s evil doppelgänger a Supreme Court justice.

Imma be real with you guys the "TESCREAL" stuff is basically the libleft version of rightist paranoia over "Cultural Marxism", where you just smash together a half-dozen things that annoy you and go "these things are all connected and being pushed by a nefarious secret cabal of my political enemies"
Happy Gathering All The Generals And Admirals In A Single Location Day to all those who celebrate!

Which deeply troubling conservative Internet subcultures are you oddly familiar with that have not yet prominently featured in the Trump administration?
It’s such a comparatively low level of risk too — the very small probability of being nuked in the US doesn’t compare with the certainty that Ukrainians face of cruise missile strikes or drone trainees murdering senior citizens.
My pettiest complaint with Trump is that we’re not going to be free of references to his rhetorical style for many years, and it grates on me.
You don’t really need logistics when you make it to the higher tier levels of warrior ethos.
Really this is a triumph of the purity of evil in Stephen Miller’s soul. Trump may stray from time to time, but in the end he’ll always listen to the worst person he’s ever met.
They should have tried harder to bring up the level of nominal GDP, and the best way to do that at 0% interest rates would have been direct cash payments to everyone equally.
“Curtis Yarvin and I discuss how creating hereditary duchies in California, New York, and Vermont will secure our nation’s ideological diversity.”
I was not in a headspace to receive this information.
“When I get to Washington, I promise to stick up for switch-class families like yours.”
Who decided to call it the Moreau envelope instead of The Envelope of Dr. Moreau?

You can do what you can privately if you can afford it (get private neuropsych testing, get an Orton-Gillingham tutor, get a special ed advocate or lawyer to motivate the district), but that doesn’t fix the systemic issue that a lot of districts fail kids who don’t have that at home.
That sounds like you have a great program and a good curriculum. I would feel really comfortable with a dyslexic kid going into that. There are a lot of school districts that don’t use phonics at all and that fight parents hard when they try to get phonics-based instruction.
The standardized testing in theory could be useful for it, but without doing the more specialized neuropsych testing it’s hard to tell whether they have a specific learning disability or whether academics are just generally harder for them.
In theory the districts have an obligation to identify kids with learning disabilities under the “Child Find” mandate from federal special education law. In practice a lot of districts don’t actually live up to that obligation.
