i get the sense that ppl who are super into AI think that AI skeptics are only against it for moral reasons, which is part of it (and is also true for me). but another issue i have with it is that it is actually bad at what it is supposed to do, with no way to improve (look up "AI plateau" for info)
just to see what would happen i asked gemini AI to write something in my writing voice (goodness knows there is plenty of it online to check against) and it was absolutely nothing like me at all. idk if this is comforting per se but it was very funny to me

This photo is over 10 years old. 2014. A self portrait. I had a lot of acne at this stage of my life. A new set of very weak constant soft boxes (that I still use, just pulled them out for headshots to give the light a little bump at a space 🤘). A piece of fabric I bought from JoAnn’s.
My point? A couple things.
The photo has aged just fine output quality wise. I tossed the RAW into Photoshop, ran my usual noise correction, gave my skin a little smooth job, color boost, and here we are.
Make sure to get in front of the camera as well as behind it. I look back fondly at the exploration here and it made me a better photographer.

If you use scripture to justify policy that limit people who happen to see things differently than you, but do not use scripture to support policies thaf feed and clothe those in need - you need to reassess if your beliefs are truly what is leading you - or if political propaganda you drink is.

The influencer fetish baiting line is so interesting to me, it’s just out in plain sight and folks can’t see it. Like the ballet dancer that always has the camera positioned so you can see how she sits (it’s clearly not about her shoes), and the gal that eats sausages.
