bsky.social is a PDS domain and is used for the oauth UI. If you have a different PDS it hosts this UI on its own domain.

bsky.app is the app domain. The app predates the oauth UI so it has its own UI that logs in via an RPC to whatever PDS you have.

concur. if android folks wanted software that behaved and looked like iOS software, they wouldn't have chosen android. software that doesn't respect platforms doesn't respect the money people spent on their devices.

ya see, on one hand we have this epistemic responsibility to eachother. knowledge and wisdom aren’t mutually exclusive, so it’s important we seek truth and be truthful in the same way we may seek assistance from others. on the other hand is pickle jar. my hand is stuck in a pickle jar. help me. help
something something “private data can be segmented into arbitrary buckets with permissions but must be kept separate from the public repository”
They didn’t link domains so I doubt they know how other parts of the app work either

I have multiple times now seen people remark the volume of hatred they get on Bluesky for pretty anodyne opinions.

...Got no idea what they're talking about. I've never seen it.

Because I went through blocklisting follow networks of the most virulent dipshits on this website.

Free and clear since
As I understand it someone is spamming the DID directory with accounts that don’t exist

Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's a NABI 45C-LFW
oh god how far back does this go
Lol they have these all over the A line and they’ve been constantly vandalized + broken and the arrival times are always inaccurate and out of sync with every other place they show train times. Can’t believe they’re still putting these in.
Anyone know what’s being tested at expo park station?

Yeah this remains true

If they ever stop failing their AI generated papers I’ll let you know, but right now they basically always fail on their own merits

Usually cause AI just lies and makes sources up and you cannot be doing that in college???

But also the prose makes no sense and is lazy
@swilua.bsky.social Tells her students "I'm not gonna be checking for AI use, if you use it you're going to get an F anyway because AI sucks"
Trade secrecy is bad
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
There's also (in 26.1 at least) a button in system preferences to restore the opaque menu bar
The cool thing here is that they added pages support, and each "page" is just a menu bar icon. There's also some window management toggles and I'm sure someone more creative than me will figure out something cool to do with the fact that you can put shortcuts here.
They ported the swiftui based controls and customization from iOS, and I believe this is going to replace MenuBarExtras since everything in here can be moved between the menu bar and the control center. The whole thing is public API now, developer.apple.com/documentatio...
New control center on macOS tahoe is surprisingly good. Never looked at it because it is simultaneously shiny, visually overwhelming, and easy to ignore, which are never a sign of a good feature, but I love this actually
