to spoil another meta mechanic

when you reach this point you'll probably be close to the end of the perk tree

but under the hub there's a library of items you've collected that you can use the same currency to equip

so you can save your gold but still nab equipment, if you're confident

it's basically the OPPOSITE of modern progression bait that guarantees progress with time

it's asking you to actually prove your skills to see the final ending

it's giving you a lot of leeway in comparison to a full 1cc/no death run but refusing to let you totally brute force progression
