In Portland, an ambulance was summoned to the ICE office to treat an injured protester (not clear how he was injured). But when the patient was loaded inside, ICE officers refused to let the ambulance leave and threatened to shoot the ambulance driver: www.wweek.com/news/2025/10...
Documents Allege a Federal Agent at Portland ICE Threatened to Shoot an Ambulance Driver
Feds delayed medics who had come to pick up an injured protester. Then, according to confidential incident reports, the agents became aggressive.

A landmark global treaty to curb billions of dollars in government subsidies for overfishing took effect on Sept. 15, Mongabay contributor Elizabeth Fitt reported.

This is the first time the World Trade Organization has approved an environmental sustainability agreement in its 30-year history.

So here for this frog inflatable semiotics
susanschorn.bsky.social
The inflatable is also an aesthetic inverse of the body armor cops are now routinely swaddled in, and their masks. A frog costume hides identity with comic rather than sinister signals. It protects vulnerable areas of the body by misdirection (where IS the frog's throat??), not accentuation.

One great aspect of iconic inflatable costumes (aside from how they instantly undermine propaganda about war zones) is that it's useless to arrest the person wearing one. Cuffing a frog would make law enforcement look pathetic. And carting one off just guarantees that more will show up the next day.

The amazing thing about the SNL sketch last night was not that Ashley Padilla wore a scarf nearly identical to mine. It’s that I trust Amy Poehler as AG more than Pam Bondi.

If human beings had a thousand souls, JD Vance would happily sell all of his. Then, sneering through his beard, he would tell you you're a loser for not doing the same.

Every sign in DC marks the loss of someone’s neighbor, someone’s loved one, someone’s friend.

Every sign marks yet another step in the march toward authoritarianism.
Signs popping up around D.C. note: ‘ICE kidnapping happened here’
The signs range in style and mark numerous locations where people have been taken by federal agents.

If ICE was doing to unlicensed pets—dogs and cats—what they’re doing to human beings, the outrage would be exponentially more ferocious

You have to do what you have to do to support democracy in the US.

I think this headline is a bit misleading.

Hmm. I wonder what they are prepping the US military for? Damn, I can’t think of anything. 🙄

So this is what they want to do to Antifa?
Oh, sorry, these *are* the graves of Antifa, who fought to save us from fascism.
Sorry, mistake.

Autumn once brought a quiet kind of joy: cozy evenings, golden leaves, hot chocolate, and the gentle thrill of the festive season approaching.

Now it brings russian bombing campaigns, blackouts, and a fresh wave of uncertainty, if more of it is even possible for us.
