Every sign in DC marks the loss of someone’s neighbor, someone’s loved one, someone’s friend.

Every sign marks yet another step in the march toward authoritarianism.
Signs popping up around D.C. note: ‘ICE kidnapping happened here’
The signs range in style and mark numerous locations where people have been taken by federal agents.

He will be missed but his values and fight will continue. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and DDS, ODR, DDC, RCM, and Quality Trust.

As a leader in Project ACTION!, he never hesitated to make sure his voice and the voices of those around him were heard.

As chair of the committee with oversight over DDS and ODR, I greatly looked forward to and enjoyed Thomas’ thoughtful and honest testimonies during hearings.

Yesterday, we celebrated and remembered the life and legacy of Thomas Mangrum Jr.

Thomas was a fierce and effective   champion of disability and queer rights in the District and this country, and a proud athlete in the Special Olympics DC.

But we can’t stop here. To keep pace with our goals, I’m proud to have introduced legislation to accelerate this critical work and create green jobs in the process.

If you haven’t yet, check your service line and learn how to get support for replacement:👇🏾

Great news for #Ward4 and DC! 💧🛠️

Today, #Petworth was the site of the 10,000th lead pipe replacement in DC. It’s a testament to the hard work of @dcwater.bsky.social and thousands of neighbors who have stepped up to make their homes and our city safer.

Senior Jubilee was amazing! 💜

Loved seeing so many members of our senior community come out to dance, share joy, and show #Ward4’s community spirit.

Special thanks to all the agencies, organizations, and volunteers who made it all possible!

During a time when our norms and rights are under attack, it's up to local governments to reinforce the rights of our people and fight back with every tool we have.

Today, Congress triggered a government shutdown amid a MAGA push to slash healthcare subsidies for more than 20 million Americans.

While District services will continue operating as normal, this is yet another reminder of the damage federal actions are having on our community.

What an amazing Caribbean Family Fun Day today in #Takoma! Loved seeing our community shine and celebrate the rich Caribbean heritage and joy that makes #Ward4 special.

Thanks to the Jamaican Nationals Association, MOCCA and all of today's sponsors for making the event possible!
Photo of about three dozen residents in a park smiling at the camera and waving Jamaican flags, with many wearing black, yellow, and green.

Today, we officially designated Ron Austin Memorial Park in #ManorPark. 🌳 Ron was a longtime public servant, ANC commissioner, and advocate who dedicated his life to improving the lives of neighbors.
Ron Austin family stands in Ron Austin Memorial Park with Councilmember Janeese Lewis George, who holds a proclamation on the designation of the park, affixed with gold ribbons and a DC Council seal. Close up of the inscription on a bronze plaque in the park:

RONALD "RON" AUSTIN MEMORIAL PARK
THIS ROCK STANDS IN REMEMBRANCE OF RON, WHOSE PRESENCE SHAPED THIS PARK AND TOUCHED THE LIVES OF SO MANY IN THE COMMUNITY. RON GREW UP ENJOYING THIS SPECIAL PLACE. MAY HIS MEMORY LIVE ON HERE, AND MAY OTHERS FIND JOY IN THIS PARK AS RON ONCE DID.
