"Without tangible change, voters will keep voting to fire the politicians who are in office and Reform is the next ‘change’ cab off the rank," writes Matthew McGregor, CEO of @38degrees.bsky.social.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I fucking resent having to pay £90 for a dose of vaccine anyway but even more so when the remaining doses in the vial are being thrown away
sharona.bsky.social
I am fuming. The pharmacist told me they are having to throw away unused vaccine because the government didn’t make it clear that the usual groups wouldn’t be eligible for this booster on the NHS. So people are making bookings and getting turned away and vaccine is going in the bin

After years of record punctuality and investment, Greater Anglia becomes a publicly owned railway this weekend, joining C2C, an Essex network already renationalised.

A quiet but historic shift for East Anglia.

For me, Thatcher’s legacy is the Gen X nationalist movement vandalising our towns and terrorising people they consider ‘other’
