Found this on the AO3 subreddit, and I'm about to let it change my whole life (or at least work really hard to internalize it wrt my writing).
Someone's screenshot of a two-post twitter thread, from user blue (@bluewmist): the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much. you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

Adding #sauce to my #GBStudio game every day- Days 24-25

Changed the melee attack to a slash, which is what I wanted it to be originally. I had to add directional sprites to projectiles first, which was a little tricky.

Also expanded the UI so you can have more health and ammo.

Got bored. Realized I've never actually attempted that extremely specific 90s anime poster shading. Materialized an elf off the cover of some OVA you walked by at Blockbuster to shade.
An anime-looking elf holding a crystal mace against her back, standing in front of some inner forest cast in light rays. The shoulder pads on her chest-only armor are very wide. You swear you watched the show at one point, despite it never existing.

Unintuitive #godotengine note of the day: Image.to_rgba32() returns an int32 with the R component in the high order byte, while PackedInt32Array.to_byte_array(), encodes your int32s to bytes in a little-endian way (i.e. low order byte first).

here's a top-down 3D thing I was making earlier this year. I made a game-engine on top of Zig and SDL. Among other stuff, it supported batched triangle meshes, billboard sprites, rich-formatted pixel fonts, render targets+shaders, keyboard/gamepad input+custom binding, cross-platform desktop builds.
