Hi, I'm Inky, and this is my new pinned post! I love to write and crochet about my favorite games (mainly DAI and DOS2), and the replies below contain active threads for the fanworks I create, including my fics, amigurumi, screenshots, amis for sale, and whatever else I decide to stick here. 🖤

A (freehanded!) crocheted Blackwall (Dragon Age Inquisition) amigurumi, standing outside in the early morning sunlight in front of the branches of a pine tree. His arms are folded across his chest as he looks up and into the camera. He is 18"/46cm tall. He's wearing his casual outfit—brown gambeson, dark brown boots and gloves—and each piece of his clothing is detailed. His gambeson has white X stitching on his right upper arm, a belt (with a buckle, belt holes, and a "leather" strap to keep the tail down), a collar, ties and clasps down the front, and beneath the gambeson, a metallic chain shirt (peeking out from the open part beneath his belt, and a lighter tunic showing just beneath the very bottom of the gambeson. His boots and gloves are belted, and each belt has buckles, belt holes, and most have the same "leather" strap to hold the tails down. His gloves also are gloves, not mittens, so each hand has five fingers and a thumb. His boots are flat and dark grey on the bottoms, so he can stand (with some support). A belt is cinched around his waist, and beneath it is red/brown padding with white trim. This belt has a round buckle (all the other buckles on his outfit are square). Additionally, the belt is overly large, as it is in game, and so it loops around itself and hangs a bit—visible in pictures I'll put in the replies. His face is highly detailed and sculpted, using multiple sculpting techniques. His nose is crooked and protrudes from his face, his hair, including beard and mustache, are brushed yarn (and then needle felted to shape his facial hair and brows). His eyes are needle felted as well, and chalk pastels were used to color and shade his face to the best of my ability. Small amounts of chalk pastels were also used on his hair to lighten parts of his beard and temples. And, in all of that, I only stabbed myself with the felting needle once! :D

Happy Dragon Age Day! 🐲🖤

As my love for these games (especially DAI--we all know it's my favorite) has grown, it's been cool to witness my ability to create growing alongside (and because of) that love. So, wrt crocheting for DA, here's one of my first pieces, and one of my most recent!

The one on the left is a piece I made years ago when I was still a beginner at making crocheted dolls. The face is kind of muppet-esque, with very few details, but enough of a likeness to the character to be (imo) unmistakably him. His arms are folded across his chest, and his eyes are looking up from under dark, thick eyebrows. This piece is smaller than the one beside it, and while still detailed, leans more toward cartoonish(?) in a way I struggle to describe. The piece on the right is much larger than the first, with carefully chosen colors throughout the piece, especially on the outfit. The level of detail on it is sort of similar to those on the first, but are more carefully and considerately applied, which results in a more realistic likeness.

A crocheted deepstalker is posed on a concrete porch with the rainy backdrop of a yard in springtime behind it. The deepstalker has a body similar to a velociraptor, with extended fingers on its hands, a long tail, and a tall neck that ends in a round, open mouth full of sharp teeth. It's kind of like a cross between a lizard and a leech. The body is crocheted in acrylic yarn, then wired and stuffed with poly-fil. I followed the velociraptor pattern up to the end of the body, then did my own thing for the head and neck, as well as all the detailing. Details were added with needle-felting and dry-brushing with chalk pastels, then lightly brushing over the body with a thin! coating of Mod Podge. The result isn't exactly soft or fluffy, but due to the wire frame, almost every part of it can be adjusted for posing: the tail, neck, head, arms, legs, and feet, so it's perfect for display. 10" tall x 13" long. Modified from the pattern "Velociraptor" by Megan Lapp (Crafty Intentions) A different angle of the same crocheted deepstalker from the first image,, this time showing the opposite side.

His muzzle is scrunched a little and lightly brushed with chalk pastels to add depth. Wired legs and neck allow for light posing. He stands here on four legs on a white backdrop, facing to the right. They are 9 inches (23 cm) tall, with wired arms and horns, needle-felted eyes and brows, a bead necklace (secured), and painted and embroidered details on their armor. The armor is mostly teal (for the “feathered” arms, shoulders, and chaps), with a mint-blue plate covering their chest. Their midriff is exposed, along with their arms around their elbows. Their gauntlets each have a trio of off-white bone spikes (firmed-up and shaped with Mod Podge) sticking out just below the elbows. Wrapping along each arm is red “rope” yarn, which winds between the spikes and up to the shoulders, where it doubles up to resemble straps. Their boots are dark grey, with light grey cuffs (embroidered with gold); around their ankles are red ties and a gold disc. Taash’s long, white hair is braided and tied back with a gold cuff near the top of the braid, and a red band at the bottom of the braid (both crocheted). Their hair is secured with two small elastic bands beneath the red crocheted tie. In Taash’s right ear are two small gold hoops and a gold disc (all yarn). Similar discs decorate Taash’s boots and belt, and hang from the ropes on their arm. A small gold stud is embroidered below Taash’s mouth, and a gold ring circles a small amount of hair at Taash’s widow’s peak. Taash’s right horn is green, with a thick gold cuff at the horn’s base, along with a thinner cuff near the middle-end of the horn. Their left horn is brown and features another thick cuff at the base, and a thin gold wrap near the end of the horn. I lost track of how long this took me to make, but I’d estimate between 30-40 hours. A small (7.5" tall) amigurumi of Cole Dragon age. He's wearing a large hat that hides a lot of his face, a patched, raggedy top with a quilted shoulder pad, a belt around his midsection, and dark trousers. He has a dagger in each hand.
