First time cooking my own Thanksgiving dinner, turned out great! Roasted chicken thighs, garlic butter green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and dinner rolls! Happy Thanksgiving!

Having watch child poverty rise like a slow-motion car crash since the two-child limit was introduced, sat in meetings up and down the country, in foodbanks, in schools, to work out how to get child poverty down, the idea that this undoing this policy is 'PLP management' is a joke.
It's such a bizarre framing. Labour MPs think taking 450k kids out of poverty is putting the country first! That's why they wanted it to happen! It's not because they personally benefit.
Headline on The World at One just now:

"Sir Keir Starmer has denied putting the Labour Party before the country by ending the two-child benefit cap".

Can we please go back to reporting the actual news, not someone's partisan take on it?

But of course the majority of journalists don't care

Journalism in this country is the problem
Worth pointing out that this is a direct breach of the manifesto
NEW - the government poised to water down flagship workers rights bill, ditching day one rights to unfair dismissal but reducing qualifying period from two years to six months.

But in concession to unions, government will remove provisions for up to nine months probation.

It's possible and reasonable to ask for evidence and then change your mind once that evidence is provided

You know what I think about people in £2 million pound houses whining about lifting children out of poverty?

They're cunts.

If you have used a racist term and need somone with backward views to defend you, Nigel Farage is your man.
Nigel Farage asked about Reform MS Laura Anne Jones (who the Senedd Commissioner found had used a racist term in a staff WhatsApp chat in August 2023 while discussing TikTok writing: “No chinky spies for me.”)
"Well, she used a word that colloquially, probably was meant in a nice way 20 years ago."

May 2014, the Charles formerly known as Prince said privately that by invading Ukraine and occupying Crimea, Putin was doing "just about the same thing as Hitler"

Nigel Farage was outraged by this statement, saying it wasn't fair on the Russian President

Immigration is finally becoming a real problem, after being a phantom menace for decades.

It’s a problem because we have too little immigration now, and it’s going to get worse.
New net migration figures at 930am.

Net migration fell half a million to 344,000 in 2024 from 848k in 2023

56% of people think it went up last year
17% think stayed the same
14% think it went down

2025 figure to be lower again
16% expect that
38% think it will be up
31% about the same

I know who Nus Ghani MP is - not because we always agree - but because she’s been serving her constituency (as well as lewks) since 2015.

Who the hell is Lucy White?!

Ah, a quick google search reveals her as a rentagob for GB ‘news.’

I know which one is qualified to chair the budget debate.

Alleged use of the N-word here is from 1997 when Farage would have been 33 years old and at a time when there was no doubt that terms like this were highly racist.

I don’t think the ‘banter’ excuse would hold up here either.
May 2014, The Guardian reports that UKIP founder Alan Sked was told by Nigel Farage not to worry about the "N vote" and that the "n*g-nogs" will never vote for UKIP.

Nigel Farage has been a lifelong racist. He's been a racist since his school days. David Lammy was forced to apologise for saying Farage flirted with the Hitler Youth - but what do you call it when someone sings Hitler Youth songs? Read Chloe Deakin's letter on Farage's fascism and racism at school.
