Earlier this year, Dr. Jane Goodall sat down for an interview for Brad Falchuk’s new Netflix series, Famous Last Words.

The premise of the series is to interview people on the condition that the interview not air until the subject has passed away.

I wrote about this in "The Unaccountability Machine" - when you describe leveraged buyouts to ordinary people, half of them say that it should be illegal and the other half are often convinced that it already is.
Buying a company by taking out a massive loan, then making the company you bought responsible for paying off that loan, is so patently evil that it should be beyond illegal. The kind of thing that inspires enlightened societies without corporal punishment to bring back the death penalty as a one-off

A popular myth is that the desaturated look of old media in the UK is caused by degradation of the recording media itself.

In fact the UK only discovered and began to import colour in the early 1990s.

In #UE5 is there a way to visualise only collision meshes and colour them by whether they are set to walkable or otherwise?

I'm looking for a Level Designer to help us tackle our map and pipeline so we can continue to build some of coolest shit we've ever built.

It's always a treat to work with someone who is a master of their craft. Can't wait to ask them many stupid questions.

Almost certainly the best photo I will ever take from an Iron Age Hill fort of the sun setting over an estuary as summer segues majestically into autumn.

Good shit
Hey! New article! This one's about the history of first person shooters, what makes 'em work, and why I like the shooters I like. It's also me lamenting how they've died, and talking a bit about why I want to go ahead and make one.

first person shooters are extremely fun, but the industry rarely makes the ones i like anymore
There’s something about that anticipation as your dropship passes over open ocean and the fighting on the beach comes into view…

Also strange: Growing up in a world where the Internet didn't exist at all, watching it expand from a seed into an incredible resource, then watching it collapse into utter shit in less time than it took to arrive.
Truly a strange feeling to have grown up with the internet being your refuge and cherished resource only to have it become utter shit and realize that maybe you don't need it and in fact can't use it the way you used to anymore

The resonance cascade, but with homemade sounds.

This redesign was tricky - and it's funny how the rubber ball sound didn't need much modification.
What do you think about the result?

The gameplay footage is from Black Mesa.
