Like, I don’t think people really consider how Prime Remastered was less a way to build anticipation for 4 (though it helped) and more a way for Retro’s mostly new employees to relearn how to make a Metroid Prime game
Also a lot of people seem to kinda forget that the original dev team led by Mark Pacini hasn’t been employed by Retro since Prime 3 wrapped up and the new team is basically trying to be a good enough tribute act to warrant the impossible pedigree they’ve been thanklessly tasked to live up to

Sylux’s inclusion in the game feels almost obligatory, like the team really didn’t see any real use for him so they literally put him on ice for 3/4 of the game
It’s so funny that with the Sylux Amiibo they made it seem like the dialogue you get for scanning it would be like… maybe some new lore or backstory for Sylux, and instead it’s basically 8 different rephrasings of “ I fucking hate Samus Aran”

Similar to the way the Eidos Montreal Deus Ex games and the Dishonored series really ended up kickstarting a glut of indie immersive sims that scratch the same itch, I could really see the same being true of Metroid Prime because there really isn’t anything like it
It's nice to have a new Metroid Prime because no one does First Person Action Adventures quite like this, even if you see its veins through the likes of Arkanes games and the newer Resident Evils. Makes me hopeful that an indie Metroidvania revolution for Prime-likes could be round the corner.

Rolled credits yesterday night and my main takeaway is that Prime 4 is a very glossy remaster of a Wii game from the year 2010, where the cieling of ambition was lower, and the story/gameplay picks up right where the last one ended. It even has all the series issues you'd expect to be fixed by now.
