Alex is getting appropriately called out in the comments here.
I do not believe in using playoff results to evaluate committee decisions but in this particular case it's because Notre Dame was beating either of these squads by 14-28 points and this was very clear at the time AND they had a comparable resume to Alabama
The insistence that these are two serious teams with serious aspirations irks me. These teams suck! They stink! I don't want to watch this!

Indiana is about to answer most of those questions for you.
Is Alabama good? Is Oklahoma good?? Is Georgia good??? I don’t really know the answer to any of these questions. Neither do you.

We definitely needed more teams in this playoff to prove they're also not worthy.

✍️ Tulane has become the model program of the Group of 5, over four years of winning, two coaches and three quarterbacks.

How a school that voluntarily left the SEC 60 years ago got back to the highest stage of college football:

Tulane was once an afterthought. Now it wants to be the model of Group of 5 sustainability
Once a team that left the SEC because it wanted to focus more on academics, Tulane has become the standard-bearer for the Group of 5.

This is the worst selection committee we've ever had.

Cannot believe Alabama didn't even drop one spot after the SEC title game blowout. Cannot believe they waited until the final reveal to flip Miami-ND. Could have done it at ANY point.

I don't think it's great for faith in the sport's governance that two teams in the 12-year history of the Playoff have made the field when they really shouldn't have, and both of those teams were Alabama

Just a painfully stupid process.

I just can't say it enough: "Notre Dame will stay ahead of Miami in the rankings as long as there's a team serving as a physical barrier between them, otherwise Miami will jump them" is a very, VERY dumb process.

That @espn.com doesn't have a college football wrap up show tonight is embarrassing.

Breaking news: a good QB and good lines tend to work out in your favor.
If there's a lesson from this season, it's that spending money on a quarterback works. Spending money on your offensive and defensive lines works.

Just now, today. Not anywhere in the previous 12 games.
Yeah I think Indiana has the better QB in this game.

Fernando Mendoza has arrived.

Anyone remember if that Auburn team got bumped out of the playoff?
The last time Georgia lost to someone in the regular season and then played them again in the SEC championship was Auburn in 2017.

Georgia won that game 28-7.

Same score it’s up on Alabama entering the two minute warning.

I remember it fondly.
I’m old enough. I was in college when Mike Shula was Bama’s coach and we regarded them like we did Ole Miss

💯
An honest Q to the college football-minded over here who have a firm grasp of how that committee works: How much would Alabama need to lose by tonight in order to have its CFP case truly be in doubt? Is it 10 points? 20? 30-plus?

It is pretty incredible that in an age of big data, college football comes down to a bunch of powerbrokers deciding which teams they want to play for the title based on whatever rules they want.

The committee should really consider this when seeding
Calipari insists on having Nick Pringle (now 31-27 lifetime) instead of Trevon Brazile (38-15) take the opening jump this season and he just lost another one.
