One thing that has sort of surprised me is that it does really seem like the desire to be ruled by a powerful fascist daddy is stronger in the median elite journalist than in the median voter.
Among our biggest mistakes was trusting millionaires to protect us from billionaires.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Ellis turns to the testimony of U.S. Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino. How he denied using force against a man he tackled and said he didn't see the Rev. David Black hit by pepperballs.

Col. Lockjaw goes Col. Jessup in his deposition.
Bovino was asked in his deposition if that was still true — that all use of force in Chicago had been "exemplary."
Bovino says "no."
Then he's asked if some force had been "less than proper?"
Bovino: "All uses of force have been MORE than exemplary."

Fellas is it good when a federal judge interrupts your closing argument to explain the law to you? Follow up question. How does your answer change when she includes "because they've been staring down barrels of guns." Good or bad, do you think?

"Do you recognize that sandwich?" the attorney asks.
Lairmore won't confirm.

All of this is true enough as far as it goes. But even more problematic is the fact that when the U.S. Coast Guard interdicts suspect vessels, boarding and searching for drugs, a quarter of the time they find no contraband.
