philosophical nature of the series. Erikson does not write escapist fantasy, he writes a story with a point. A story about its themes. Malazan is best when it is philosophical.

Like yeah sometimes someone has a legitimate question that they need help understanding, but sometimes they're just asking about basic elements of the plot/characters that reading more answers

This is the same thing as Founding Father slave owners! We want to only act like white people's feelings and thoughts matter! But the enslaved people of their plantations sure hated them and reviled them for their actions in ways that leave clear historical evidence, AND THEY ARE OF THAT TIME.
