I grew up in a "hakol" shul, have been attending a "hameitim" shul for 15+ years, and now the shul I teach Hebrew at switched from "hameitim" to "hakol" last year. What comes out of my mouth during the G'vurah these days is an absolute coin toss.
The Jewish version is you give your name as "Baruch atah Ad!nai, m'chayeh…." and half answers "hameitim" and the other answers "hakol"
