I don't need AI to help me overuse em dashes. I've been doing that on my own since middle school.

why even have a brain at all?
Genuinely spellbound by the anecdotes in @lilashroff.bsky.social's new article, such as: "one tech worker in her 20s, who asked to remain anonymous out of embarrassment ... asked Claude whether she should call 911 when her fire alarm kept going off." Google-everything culture on steroids.

This is how you get dead kids. Flu kills, COVID kills, vaccines protect. It's not that complicated. Trump admin would prefer people die so they can use the chaos to gain more power and money. That's it. 🩺 These men are ghouls and if they get their way, we will all be sicker and many more dead. 🧪
Vinay Prasad of the FDA claims that he has proof that 10 children died from COVID19 vaccines, so the FDA will now target flu shots, look at whether people should receive multiple vaccines at the same time, and make the vaccine approval process significantly more difficult.
FDA to impose strict new vaccine requirements, claiming child covid shot deaths
Vinay Prasad, the nation’s top vaccine regulator, said his team concluded that coronavirus shots were linked to children’s deaths, necessitating a new approach.

Ed Whelan was Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for OLC from 2001-2004, so when he suggests that laws of war have been violated by the executive branch, that’s… something
Does Pete Hegseth have a "golden shield" against prosecution in the form of a DOJ OLC opinion? Ed Whelan thinks not.

why is it so funny to me that the bank at this children's play place cares enough about verisimilitude for the signage to include the phrase "Member F.D.I.C." 😂

I think often of the time a bunch of murder victims’ families showed Trump treasured photos of their loved ones and he signed them
Q: Do you plan to attend Sarah's funeral?

TRUMP: I haven't thought about it yet, but it's certainly something I can conceive of. I love West Virginia. You know, I won West Virginia by one of the biggest margins of any president anywhere.

We raced to put our toddler in front of the TV when the balloons/floats for Sesame Street, Mickey Mouse and his pals, Bluey, and Buzz Lightyear appeared during the Macy's parade.

But he seemed to be just as excited when Goku — a character he has no knowledge of, as far as we know — showed up???

our latest @sportsmoviespod.bsky.social episode is up, talking Slap Shot with @samitsarkar.bsky.social. really enjoyed tangling with my feelings about this movie (which ended up very positive!), and talking with Samit about it all.

I follow the Westchester County government on Facebook, and whenever I glance at the comments under a post about pretty much any county expenditure — but especially ones like EV chargers — there are invariably people complaining like "You're spending money on THIS instead of FIXING THE POTHOLES?!"
It's funny how this isn't identifiable as a Conservative Opinion but is absolutely the sort of thing that runs on conservative opinion pages. An even split between "the traffic is so bad now" and "Mr. Trump, please exterminate the brutes." A perfectly American intellectual movement in that sense.
At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

This is today's actual house editorial.

there is zero chance the Yankees failed to turn a profit in any year, but especially in 2025 when they were coming off a World Series appearance. If an MLB owner says he lost money, that's like me saying I can fly. You should insist on proof.

(I can't fly, just so no one asks me to demonstrate.)

It's my favorite time of year, the week where my Google search history is like a dozen variations of "how many onions make for 2 cups chopped onions" "how much fresh sage equals 1 tsp dried sage" "where can I get 1 cup of buttermilk, no more, no less"

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.
