Yankees regressed from ALCS to ALDS in ‘20, ALDS to Wild Card in ‘21, ALCS to out of playoffs in ‘23, and now World Series to ALDS in ‘25. All under the same guy, with only ‘22 and ‘24 as reprieves.
(and both featured severe playoff embarrassment anyway via Astros sweep & Nestor/Game 5 errors)

"This won't immediately fix everything" isn't a good reason not to do something. You've gotta always be looking to improve or you get left behind, talking about your franchise as if it's the best in the game when it clearly isn't, while your division rival sprays champagne in your clubhouse.
