It really does. Just wish the app was less hostile with Temu like spin wheels and cache bloating. It knows exactly what I like where Amazon and Walmart thinks I'm a rich old lady looking for 18k designer bags and 6k Cartier bracelets. They're trying to turn me into my mother 😭

It can be great for shopping if you make the ads work for you. I find a lot of sales for things I want and the algos are good enough to make window shopping enjoyable. Shein has the best algo.

It listens to your microphone, DMs, Discord, phone calls, SMS, and Google search history for key words to deliver relevant content. This can be useful, but it can also feel like an invasion of privacy. Be sure to do the privacy check up. Feel free to DM if you have questions 💖

They're also flexible enough where they adjust as your tastes change or when there's a type of content you no longer want.

There is a sticky problem tho, it tends to show you only content you currently interact with and forgets older preferences so you see it less.

It's less safe for trans and other vulnerable groups since they relaxed moderation. People say a lot of vile stuff, especially on open trans accounts.

That said, their algos are good at delivering content you like if you know how to work with it.

There's a lot of benefits to Instagram if you use it right and make the algos work for you. It's best to set your account to private to avoid bots and trolls. They allow a moderate level of toxic replies and you will get DMed duck pics if your account is open.
