Police departments paid out $2.3 billion in settlements in one year.

We're not overspending feeding people. We're overspending beating people.
No thank you. I can decide how I want to engage with other users of this service all on my own because I'm an adult.
In conclusion: W*x sucks. 15 years ago they were fantastic but are now 100% enshitified: Overpriced, fussy web builder, terrible UI, non-existant SEO, bloated code, hundreds of features no one will ever use, crams A.I. bullshit into your face 24/7, hostile to customers. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Neocities is THE place to build a website from scratch. My hand-coding days are long behind me but if I was still wrangling html and css using BBEdit, Neocities would be my first stop. 100% free, no ads, domain hookup is a one-time $5 fee. So cool.

Hostinger is where I'm rebuilding my new website. So far so good! Prices are VERY affordable (the deal I got came to $28/year), WYZIWIG tools are simple and smooth and it has a built-in SEO checker. There's some mild A.I. bullshit but it costs extra so it's easy to avoid entirely.

switching website hosts is super easy when your old hosting service doesn't suck balls (mine does)
I really don't know How To Internet
Twilight Zone: The Movie, in the theater. I was 12. I'd only ever seen gentle G and PG movies before this. Absolutely harrowing.

On the plus side I don't have storage space to run social media apps on my backup phone and I'm totally loving it the lack of distractions. I might make it permanent change!
My phone suddenly won't take a charge so I had to spend the last THREE HOURS setting up my backup phone with just the bare essential communication apps and logins so I can be a normal functional member of modern society while my main phone is getting repaired!

Seriously, the Archie Mega Man series was way ahead of its time. Great art, sophisticated all-ages storytelling. If you published it today as fat, 12-issue digests it would go toe-to-toe with books like Dog Man
Archie's MEGA MAN series was an EXCELLENT kids comic. My own kids (now teenagers) loved it when they were little and we read their copies until they fell apart. I'm glat to see it's getting re-published, I just hope a budget softcover edition will follow.
