End of the year is my time for digital decluttering. Between X-Mas & New Years I back up that year's completed work files to DVD+Rs, an external HD and a cloud service (iDrive), change all my passwords, delete temp files and online accounts I don't need anymore. So satisfying.

my work schedule for the next 2-4 months:
December 20, 2025 at 2:33 PM
A visit to the local comic store to browse the racks will always be my favorite way to learn about new comics. I don’t need to know about shit weeks or even months in advance. I like surprises.
How the hell does anyone hear about new comics? Like I feel I only know about new book releases because artists talk about them here or I see them at my LCS. I don't surf reddit and I don't pick up news anywhere else, really

Another nice thing about Hostinger is that they, unlike many hosting services, allow adult content, which even if one's work isn't explicitly 'adult', clears up any worries about anything such as LGBTQ+ content being interpreted that way and taken down.

Paying $3 to have an online space for my own shit that I can share directly to people who like me is a much better deal than ANY social media service subscription where they will only send your shit to others if it's of a benefit to them, the company you're paying for that exact service.
ARTISTS / WRITERS / CREATIVE FOLKS!!!

Hostinger websites are $3 a month with all the same features as Wix, Squarespace, etc. - they have an easy WYZIWIG site builder or you can just use Wordpress!

Wix was charging me $17/month so I switched a few months ago. I love it.

Generative AI is a poison that kills everything it touches all so people who are already rich get to be richer while you have to be poorer
We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

Hey if you need a good Christmas watch this weekend, you absolutely should make it Bob's Burgers "The Plight Before Christmas" (season 13, episode 10) because it is something really, really special.

It was nominated for an Emmy and totally should have won.

Wanna feel old?
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released TEN YEARS AGO, TODAY.
My kids first Star Wars film, and their fave.
I love it too. That scene were Finn and Poe steal a TIE fighter made me feel like I was 8 years old watching The Empire Strikes Back for the first time.
SUCK IT, HATERS.

My dad passed away very unexpectedly in 2010 at the age of 61. He was a huge fan of comedy, but SNL and Chris Farley in particular. So of course, I had to slip him in as the Second City audience member who talks to Chris after a show in GROWING UP FARLEY. Wish he could have seen it!

When I was a little kid (born in 1970s) I loved watching the old Batman TV show reruns and then I found out that Batman comic books existed. I wanted one of my own, but I was also a shy kid who never asked for things, so I just drew my own.
It was fun and I just never stopped drawing stuff.
With all this awful news going on i wanna ask this question once again to fellow artists and general creatives. What got YOU into art? what sparked that motivation to start writing? what made you wanna pick up a camera and start taking pics? Like share with us your reasons.
