My dad passed away very unexpectedly in 2010 at the age of 61. He was a huge fan of comedy, but SNL and Chris Farley in particular. So of course, I had to slip him in as the Second City audience member who talks to Chris after a show in GROWING UP FARLEY. Wish he could have seen it!

Accidentally bought non alcoholic beer which I’ve never tried before and omg it’s DISGUSTING. I get not wanting to consume alcohol (I love a good mocktail) but how is THIS preferable to drinking say, iced tea or just plain water?!

A manga adaptation of The Punisher Capcom Arcade Game, where he beats up cyborgs and ninja girls and choo-choo trains with his bare hands while sustaining his strength by eating rotisserie chickens he finds in oil barrels - that he ALSO punches.
I'd draw the shit out of it!

Kirby's 2nd and 3rd runs of Captain America are personal favorites too - my platonic ideal of bright & bombastic kid-brained super hero comics (in the best way).

A couple of days ago I got asked what my favorite Jack Kirby comic is and although there were a lot of contenders (Machine Man, New Gods, 2001, The Demon, The Losers, etc, etc) I answered DESTROYER DUCK, which I don't think is actually a "good" comic book, but I do love how & why it got made.

Rewatched Mortal Kombat (1995) and damn, this movie is WAY better than it should have been. It's corny, low-budget and very "90's" but the music RIPS and the whole cast (Tagawa [RIP] & Ashby in particular) fucking COMMIT and it totally saves the movie. It's not a GREAT film, but I freaking love it.

If you like Christmas but hate the cliched corniness, this movie is right up your alley.
CHRISTMAS, AGAIN (2014) is about a sidewalk Christmas tree salesman living out of a trailer in Greenpoint, Brooklyn after a bad breakup. Found it on Kanopy and I really liked it!
