I love these birds - they’re such cheerful companions during my wetland surveys. These are beautiful pictures of them!

The EPA (held hostage by this administration) is trying to further gut our nation’s wetland protections.

Wetlands are essential for flood protection, water filtration, biodiversity, drought mitigation and so much more.

Make public comments to reject these changes.

We lost our beautiful kitty Jazzy last week. We’re devastated. She was way too young to pass and it hurts.

Her legacy will be honored most by reminding everyone to find the time to be playful and joyful every day. And don’t let people you don’t trust invade your space.

Love you fur-ever, Jazzy!

Starbucks’ CEO makes 6,666x what the average @sbworkersunited.org barista does. It would take less than one day of sales to finalize a fair contract.

Baristas at Starbucks corporate stores nationwide are on strike to fight this corporate greed and get the fair contract they deserve.

The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.

They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.

They’re refusing.

Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.

Starvation as a policy choice.

I led an Earthing session at a women’s retreat in Ohio last month. It was so beautiful holding space for women used to city living to reconnect to nature and themselves.

Here’s a #BatWeek sneak peak. We gave back to the bat community by assisting with bat research, focusing on migratory patterns and colony health metrics for Brazilian free-tailed bats. Just look at this little cutie!

I reported them as a terrorist/hate group on LinkedIn and haven’t seen anymore directed at my account.

Went all the way to Southeast New Mexico for a wetland survey in order to spot this adorable Texas horned lizard.

I’m grateful for last night’s opportunity to participate in bat research surveys.

We spent the evening capturing bats, collecting data and lab samples, PIT tagging, and then releasing them into the night sky.

I love participating in efforts to enhance bat populations. They do so much for us!

I helped with a bat capture survey last week, which is a multi-year survey studying the bat populations at a regenerative pecan farm in Texas. 🦇

I love working with bats and seeing their unique personalities.

The evening bats were chatty little things - they can definitely carry a conversation! 😉

Sometimes when you’re out doing a wetland assessment, you realize someone beat you to it. In this case, that someone was a beaver!

During our Colorado project, we stumbled upon a beaver working hard to create fabulous new habitat. It’s exciting to partner this outstanding restoration professional 😉

American beautyberry is living up to her name in the Houston area this summer. But so are the thorny vines, like green sawbriar, who made sure to reach out and remind me of their presence during the entire survey.

Grateful that Texas Democrats and California are collaborating to protect the wellbeing of Texans. Gerrymandering harms all of us, especially women, BIPOC, LGTBQ, disability rights, and so many other vulnerable groups.

Can’t you just smell the vanilla emanating from these pics?

When I was a kid, I knew Ponderosa pines as “vanilla trees.” Every time I visited the Sierras, I’d wrap my arms around them and steep myself in their aroma. They grounded me. And, I guess, started my journey towards being a tree hugger 😉

They have been emboldened to say what they think or show complicity through their inaction. While it’s shocking, it’s simultaneously not surprising. It’s now clear how many institutions are built on exploitation and racism and want to stay that way.
