Just throwing this unoriginal but very important idea out there - ICE needs to be completely disbanded. Not defunded (well, yes - that too). It needs to be obliterated. Those who chose to take jobs with that agency need to answer for that for the rest of their careers. They are fascist enforcers.

A friend recently told me that they didn’t think ICE would deploy tear gas in well to do neighborhoods with a high density of white people. I understood their thinking, but disagreed. Today, they gassed Lakeview. Nothing is off limits to these people.

For the record, $130 million is almost literally a tiny drop in the bucket. The U.S. military payroll biweekly is some $23 billion (the latest budget request is $600 billion). This ostensible gift amounts to a bit more than 0.5% of the biweekly payroll.

I have a rule that says that could go toward either anxiety or joy need to be judged at times. I decided to nudge my day toward joy after that 1.5 hour interview and to myself to the restaurant overlooking the James River, ordered she-crab soup, and a nonalcoholic blueberry lemonade concoction. 2/
