Whatever your feelings are on artificial intelligence, A.I. has nothing to do with the purpose of the alt attribute or alt text. To suggest that people deliberately write misleading alt text in order to "stick it to A.I." is going to hurt the humans who rely on it to access the web.
Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images.

The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

I stopped by my friendly neighborhood used-media store this morning (day off) and discovered a whole shelf full of #TravellerRPG supplements, more than half from @mongoosepublishing.bsky.social . The catch is they’re older books (1st edition). Still worth getting in your opinion? #ttrpg #Traveller

Russia rolls out a surrender deal for Ukraine => Trump insists Ukraine must sign => An enormous joint diplomatic effort by Europe + Ukraine + some Americans is needed to transform the deal into something acceptable => Russia refuses to sign.

Well, imagine that.

Not only do a substantial percentage of the leading MAGA influencers on Twitter turn out to be foreigners, but there seems to be a lively trade overseas in teaching people how to set up your own MAGA influencer account for fun and profit.
I love that these garbage scammers figured out that right wing Americans are some of the dumbest people on the planet, on account of how angry and stupid they are.

I am so interested to see how the MAGA idiots justify their heroes being mostly foreign agents.

I'll believe that when I see it actually happen. That Man never fires sycophants, only people who have the insolence to suggest that he's wrong about anything or tell him the truth in the form of bad news.
BREAKING

President Trump is considering removing Kash Patel as FBI director in the coming months, as he and his top aides have grown increasingly frustrated by the unflattering headlines Patel has recently generated.

This, no irony or sarcasm intended, seems pretty big. A lot of us often refer to cognitive dissonance as a tool to explain how, for instance, MAGA continues to hold on to their worldview even in the face of events directly refuting their cultic faith in That Man.

This is likely to be insufficient to satisfy Russia, which, as the FT headline indicates, might end up rejecting the deal arrived at between American & Ukrainian negotiators because it's not a carbon copy of their original demands.
The FT, citing senior officials, reports that Ukraine has agreed to limit its Armed Forces to 800,000 troops. Unresolved issues remain: territory and security guarantees.

As the chart shows, credit application rejection is at its highest level in 11 years - it was actually much lower during the pandemic.
NY FED: The rejection rate for all types of credit (auto loan, credit card, credit card limit increase, mortgage, mortgage refinance) over past 12 months rose to a series high of 24.8% in October.

Apparently the U.S. and Ukraine have reached agreement on a peace deal...but if Ukraine managed to get the most outrageous parts of the original "offer" deleted, Russia, being stupidly maximalist and unwilling to compromise, will reject it so we'll be right back where we started from.
BREAKING: Ukraine has agreed to a U.S.-brokered peace deal, with only minor details left to finalize, according to CBS News. National Security Adviser Rustem Umerov confirmed a common understanding has been reached. Zelensky may travel to Washington by month’s end. Russia has yet to respond.
