His Toronto home, Lambton Lodge (1875), is still standing at 186 Beverley St. Now owned by Ontario Heritage Trust, who restored in 1980s. Main floor much as it was; upper floors now offices.

Brown was also an ardent abolitionist, against slavery in the U.S..
