A 34-year-old as a politician: My god he's like a baby. It's like they just elected an infant to be their mayor.

A 34-year-old as an athlete: You have to admire the bravery of him attempting that dunk, knowing full well the grim reaper is right behind him.

Is there like an entire cottage industry for those weird orchestral dramatic half tempo covers of pop songs on The Traitors?

I got COVID last week and it is absolutely no fun at all. I am now dealing with significant fatigue since I recovered. Please look after yourselves, get boosted if you can, avoid vulnerable people if you're sick etc!
After a long pause, I've just done another England Covid & NHS update as we head into the autumn/winter season.

TLDR: we're in a significant Covid wave now, the NHS is stretched, get boosted if you're eligible.

This time last week I was fit and ready to run a half marathon this weekend.

Today, after five days of COVID, I had to stop drum practice after 3 songs because I felt so heavy.

Patricia Routledge is a legend and I'm so sad to hear that she has died. Hyacinth Bucket is a genius comedic character and nobody else could have played her.

I will now get to have the wedding I want, where I want it instead of doing the weird two-stage 'official bit' and 'ceremony bit'. Isn't that nice? :)
Success! The UK Government has said that it will extend legal recognition to humanist marriages in England & Wales. Recognition will be introduced as part of a broader package of marriage reforms which the Government says will be subject to a further public consultation launching in the new year.

What’s driven Rowling mad is the dissonance between her sense of herself as a good, reasonable, humane, unprejudiced person and large numbers of people refusing to agree. To her, criticism can only be explained by ignorance or malice

During the press conference, officials appeared to take the inscriptions literally, to the extent they ascribed meaning to them at all. But the four messages apparently written by the alleged shooter instead seem to invoke a variety of memes and video game references.

News outlets are woefully unequipped to report on the shooting. It takes 1 minute to Google what was written on the bullets and find out where its come from, yet all of the journalists are unashamedly just winging it and giving a much different interpretation than the obvious one.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

@jameshoffmann.bsky.social Hi James - not sure if you monitor here, but watched two videos of yours tonight (V60 technique, IKEA haul) and both had multiple midroll ads in them. I don't begrudge you the ad revenue but know you usually have these off, so thought I'd mention in case you didn't know!
