I wonder if part of this is blindly following opinion polls. Those on the right will *say* that they'd be more likely to vote Labour if they are 'tougher on immigration' or whatever, but in reality Labour could cure cancer and they still wouldn't vote for them. But Labour rely on the polling.

If i remember correctly, Paxman himself has admitted that this wasn't good interviewing and he only kept repeating the question because he couldn't think what else to ask.

In North East England people often make a show of refusing to wear a jacket on a night out when it's cold (not *this* cold, I must say) and tough it out, turning blue and insisting they're fine.

I like to imagine people in Iceland, melting in their woollens inside, insisting they're fine

It's about brand recognition, I'd imagine. Yes the last couple of games have had Link wear blue in marketing material but he was known for like 25+ years before that for green. Zelda was less tied to a colour scheme, so easier for her to change out.

Don't get me wrong, I get it. It's just hard as a fan of Metroid to see games as an artform get fundamentally damaged by the economic realities of games as a commercial product for big businesses like this. Some irrational part of me just hoped Nintendo in particular wouldn't get caught by it.

Nintendo understand how much this would be reviled enough to avoid any mention of it at all for years.

But they don't understand this enough to like... not do it in the first place?

Be as competent as you want. If you can't also bring people with you, you will achieve nothing.

Johnson very charismatic but utterly useless, won. Brown, extremely competent but completely lacking in leadership skills, lost.

Ofc we all want competence, it doesn't mean soft skills don't matter.

I've thought about contacting artists before for personal commissions (DnD art) but am always scared to contact as I really have no idea what the going rate is at all and don't want to insult anybody! Is there any guidance anybody could suggest how to estimate a good rule of thumb?

Stunned to find 'be our own worst enemies' has been a key policy for Labour not just for the past couple of decades, but basically since inception.

Through these episodes on Stalin I've learned I was super ignorant of how bleak he and the USSR are were, eg his paedophilia, the rape of German women etc. I don't feel I'm as ignorant with Hitler and the Nazis. Did you feel like this at all doing your research? Or am I just uninformed?

I did a session at work once about personality resilience and gave some tips for improving sleep quality. I told them not to have their phones in the bedroom. I was met with about half a dozen questions, asked in a tone that suggested I was mad, that were all basically 'how could I wake up on time'

Can I just clarify what you mean by that? If you tick over 100k your personal allowance is taken away based on how far over you are, you dont lose thousands the second you hit 100k. Am I misunderstanding some other aspect?

Who needs a Nintendo Museum book when you can have written summaries of every game released for a range of Nintendo consoles though, amirite? I heard there might be a good selection of such books out there

Might be familiarity as you say, as I read Gatsby first! Interesting
