More audits do little if ASIO & the State Police don't communicate.
Australia would save more live if a device was placed in vehicles that took alcohol/ drug levels &/ or a valid licence needed to be inserted.
We have the technology but "ohhh the expense" cried everyone

I've said it before but the sooner we get every OECD country (except the US) to tip money into a global medicines regulator the better. Maybe just expand the European Medicines Agency.........
Anyone else find it alarming that the FDA Commissioner is sharing deranged conspiracy theories about HIV coming from a lab and Lyme disease being a bioweapon made by Nazi war criminals in a USDA lab during the Cold War? Just me?

If it had been a murderous riot involving hundreds of people carrying a combination of Palestinian, IS and Nazi flags then Segal’s “cascading antisemitism” narrative would fit. But it was an IS terror cell involving just two men from one family. People, especially journalists, need to get a grip.

Going to donate first thing tomorrow. Work knows and is fully supportive. The website is down due to traffic and queues are long.

Sydney, and Australia, is more than a couple of lunatics who represent no-one.

We are one, and we are many

Red Cross in Sydney, asking for blood donations.

If you’re due, today is a good day to go, or if you’ve been thinking about starting, do it now.

Employers, give people a little time off to donate.

Organise your social or work group to go together.

Do it today.

Wanna bet the gunman had his registered for hunting on some property that heaps and heaps of people are also registered on?

It is possible that there are checks for this but I don't know and don't see anything that says there are. So someone charges you $100/yr/gun for an address on paperwork.

Australia is more urbanised today than it was in 1996. Opponents of a new round of gun control are going to find themselves even further on the fringe than they were in 96. Especially if it focuses on use case.

Just to be clear, the Coalition's current leader has said "maybe" to fresh gun reforms, a process started by her predecessor John Howard, and has instead called for a crackdown on universities after a horrific attack by a man associated with Islamic State and known to the intelligence services.

If only the government had acted earlier to let an unqualified, politically appointed anti-semitism Czar police the thoughts of university campuses, the government could have .. <checks notes> .. persuaded a father/son IS terrorist cell from terroristing.

<blink blink>

Are we really going there?

Minns very clearly saying at this presser that Firearms Act reform will be happening in NSW and the details are coming.
There would be less than ten thousand people Australia wide that have a legitimate business reason to keep a firearm in their home. The vast majority of people who need firearms for work would access them through a managed armoury.

Why do we have 4 million registered firearms in Australia?

Genuinely have zero chill for Bibi and Baby JD weighing into what Australia should or shouldn’t do to keep our people safe

Those two have a daily blood bath between school shootings, terror attacks, base attacks, settler “skirmishes” & violence against their own citizens

The real reason the gap is so high is well known to overpaid Mark Butler & the rest of the MPs that infest Australian politics. ie: The #Medicare rebates & other social services have withered on the vine while wealthy 'donors' enjoy juicy tax breaks. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne... #auspol
Australia’s medical specialist fees are ‘out of control’, Mark Butler says. Here’s why, and how to fix it
The federal government has some levers to pull, experts say, but there are also other issues that must be addressed

The blame lies with Albanese. He raised Jews above everyone else, continues material support to Israel’s war, allowed Nazi’s to march giving some Jews further ammunition to be racist/genocidal towards Palestinians and now will further damage relations between parts of our community.
