An eye opener book re: the 'White Saviour' complex in most of our media. Where the alcoholic or mentally, physically broken, white christian man can save the non- whites and fix himself (Dances with Wolves, The Last Samurai etc). Unthinking Eurocentrism- Multiculturalism and the Media- Shobat/Stam

Edward Said Orientalism also had a profound impact on the way I saw how my western culture had raised me and continues to raise generations and had deliberately influenced the way I looked at other cultures. Life experiences, maturity and a warts and all self awareness is now my perspective.
