I think what it comes down to is engagement. You can have ten million followers on brdsite, but if none of that turns into interactions or clicks to what you're there to promote - what exactly is the point?

Most of the people still there are trying to sell something... but if they never buy... why?

I think it's the perception that you'd be "losing audience" on a site that has been very clear about the fact that any metrics are completely gamed and that anything that isn't pay-to-play is purposely hidden from even your followers.

So yeah, I don't get it either.

@gutbomb.net designed the case, and has been kind enough to continue to expand the design to accommodate additional machines (like the 128/512/Plus).

@museumjoe.bsky.social handled all the logistics of making this something enthusiasts could easily bring home and tinker on.

My humble (if cluttered) workbench. This is my cozy place!

My workbench. There's an open area in the center, but the rest is filled with old PC motherboards in testbenches, soldering equipment, test equipment, keyboards, and wires. The area surrounding is stacked with boxes, old cd-rom drives, compact Macintosh computers, Commodore 64s, Amigas, MSX computers, etc.

Just a quick reminder that Windows 10 was supposed to be the LAST VERSION OF WINDOWS, and was just going to get continued security updates for all and feature updates for newer hardware - but then Microsoft remembered they could just make more money by forcing everyone to upgrade again.
