I think it is corrosive on a spiritual level to live in a world where we are so unused to justice that a political assassination feels like cause for celebration.

We get to feel conflicted about this, we have been deprived every "appropriate" route to justice

And also, this is not justice

Neoliberalism reframes citizens as consumers, and the state as a service provider. It promotes the idea that society should be run like a business; efficient, competitive, and responsive to market signals, not democratic deliberation.

Since it is Juneteenth, I will share a lil something...

My ancestors were slaves in Texas & were freed on June 19, 1865. They came together to meet with other ex-slaves & formed the Limestone County 19th of June Organization. They bought 30 acres of land on Lake Mexia.

"Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" is no longer an applicable allusion for the levels of psychiatric dysfunction I'm seeing.

California national guard troops and marines deployed to LA to help restore order have told friends and family members they are deeply unhappy about the assignment and worry their only meaningful role will be as pawns in a political battle they don't want to join.
