Two very important questions to answer for Aussie environment laws:
Sometimes, when you’re trying to figure out the efficacy of complex policy and legislative changes, it helps to ask simple concrete questions. So here are two: 1) Will the salmon farms be coming out of Macquarie Harbour? & 2) Will Madeleine King stop selling exploration licences? Hope that helps.

I'm really enjoying the Festival of Pococks Making Sense.
How ludicrous for Labor to cut $5 billion in public services during a cost of living crisis. Every six months the government pays around $5b in Fuel Tax Credits to mining corporations to burn fossil fuels. If Labor is going to cut spending, cut handouts to fossil fuel barons.

Indeed. Make it make sense.

Assuming every boat Trump and Hegseth blew up contained the amount of drugs they claim, Hernandez was responsible for bringing more drugs into the US than every one of them had combined. By far. And yet, Trump murders 80+ people and counting while pardoning the narco kingpin.

Whenever the Greens or independents want anything to change the media screams demanding in-depth analysis from them on how the policy would work then dismisses them even if they have that analysis

Pauline goes ‘look at me, I have no policy but I am racist’ and the media is like ‘let’s hear her out’

Call to Activism

MAGA is stunned into silence as officials confirm the National Guard shooter, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, entered the U.S. in 2021 and was vetted and granted LEGAL ASYLUM by the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION in April 2025.

Their entire narrative just collapsed.

The EPBC Act changes are nowhere near perfect, but there have been some important improvements to the pretty shite original bill.

Good on the govt for negotiating with the Greens to deliver something not completely shit.

Maybe think on doing a bit more of that?

So Labor and the Liberals teamed up to pass legislation to give police the power to recommend cancellation of Centrelink payments of people who have not been found guilty of a crime by a court of law. It’s discriminatory financial punishment of people in poverty who are already over-policed
