Before the last election, Clare gave a passionate speech on QANDA about needing to "roll up their sleeves" and build more houses.

A year later, it's all about the ridiculous 5 pc deposit. I wonder how many houses they've built? Judging by the nearby tent town, I'd guess not many...

It’s all terrible, David. The country needs major change immediately and unfortunately the only people in the way are the people who can make it happen.

Wow.
"The corrected version of a Deloitte report to the Albanese government reissued by the big consulting firm after it was found to include AI-generated mistakes contains new citation errors and other flaws in referencing the academic work it relies on"

More errors, ‘irrelevant citations’ in Deloitte’s revised AI report
Academics question how AI-generated “gobbledegook” can be justified after the fact by irrelevant citations, as the big four firm republishes its welfare report.

I used to think Donald has never read a book (even his own). Well, unless there is one with cartoons called "How Stupid, Insecure Men Can Clumsily Pretend to Assert Authority."

How the fuck is this journalism?

The click through reveals a conduct case that has nothing to do with the alleged murders.

Between this and the AI bullshit what hope do we have in finding anything that's true?

How do senior public servants get terminated from a role and still get a $900k payout on the way out?!

There needs to also be more transparency about the reason for the former Secretary's departure.

Revealed: secretary was terminated and received hefty payout after sudden exit
Department under fire for being 'cagey' about public servant's shock departure.

There's no point in our governments setting 'ambitious' emissions reduction targets if they won't actually take reducing emissions seriously.

Expanding fossil fuels and relying on bogus carbon credits is NOT taking it seriously.

Gutless wimps.

Too busy listening to the complaints in the house, where they hold essentially a super majority over a group of people arguing among themselves to bring back policies (and politicians) who are self-vandalising.

We deserve better. A Govt from the electorate, not the donors.

Energy bills to halve by 2050: @grattaninstitute.bsky.social The renewables revolution will help conserve earth’s thin biosphere … and it’ll be much cheaper for households and enterprises. 👇

The corporate bandits will ensure this doesn't happen. The costs of production may significantly fall but you can be certain they won't allow prices to below existing levels. Just as CEO salaries no longer relate to average worker income the law of supply and demand is no longer adhered to.

This is a significant “dumbing of a nation, just dig up dirt to sell instead” graph that is easily reversed and #Australia would reap the benefits. Australians invented wifi and were early designers of solar panels. We have really really inventive smart people that we SHOULD invest in. 1/

This is political capital the electorate generously granted to Labor, despite a lacklustre performance, to use on our behalf. Unspent, you can guarantee we will withhold it at the next election #Auspol

Latest wind gust slamming the house, from Mt Wellington at 8pm = 132kph. This is becoming really tiresome, Since 11am it's been continually gusting over 100kph, except for one hour when it calmed to a mild zephyr of only 87kph. #roaring40s #roaringforties #winds #gales #tasmania #lutruwita

Doug Cameron is on the ball here.
I'm concerned that @albomp.bsky.social is still hurting from the Voice referendum & is now too shy to 'be brave'.

The superannuation back down was humiliating. There was no need for that, it was good policy.

Keating makes the point that Labor should spend some political capital.
My wish list:
Be brave.
Ditch AUKUS.
Stop worshiping the “market”
Fix CGT and -ve gearing.
Tackle poverty reduction
Housing as a human right.
Establish a modern Housing Commission.
Build public Housing.

Agree entirely with your sentiments, but it seems unlikely a passenger flight would be en route to Nevatim air force base in Israel, as this story says.

Having once been engaged as a courier, it was my understanding that it is forbidden by international aviation law to ship cargo on passenger flights.

ASIC’s Sarah Court says they could’ve fined ANZ over their ‘grubby’ misconduct into the Billions, but didn’t coz it’s “so high”, it’s “almost meaningless”🤔
McKim “it’s interesting words to use, ‘almost meaningless’…some might argue that $240mill is pretty meaningless to ANZ”💥 #Estimates

Nick McKim “they made $6.5 billion last year, do you think they’re going to be worried very much about a $240 million fine?”
“I just don’t think $240 million is going to touch the surface of their grubbiness”
“I think we’re going to be back here again in a year, or 2, or 3…”
