I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Mohammed. Mohammed is 25 years old and before this worked in a market and a house goods store. At the beginning of the war his house was bombed and he lost 22 members of his family who were sheltering there. He is trying to save the survivors.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

This is so crazy, flouting every international law and the IN charter itself The genociders get rewarded and Palestinians are punished just for being born in a land wanted by others
The UN Embraces Colonialism: Unpacking the Security Council’s mandate for the U.S. colonial administration of Gaza
The Security Council’s backing of the Trump plan for Gaza ignores international law, punishes the Palestinians, and rewards those responsible for genocide.

Our carceral state. It needs to stop
Most of us have no idea how bad it is inside ICE detention centers because they have kept it hidden. Then a truth teller shows up and says it plain.

The conditions are filthy. The treatment is inhumane. The abuse is Systematic and routine.

It’s been hard to know what’s happening in DC too
ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

The national media's been silent. So has @mayor.lacity.gov.
Engagement on our updates re: ICE kidnappings/fed siege of Los Angeles is significantly lower on Bluesky compared to Twitter. Do ppl on here not care about LA anymore? Are feeds being taken over by liberal commentators? What's going on?

Community members on the ground can't do it all. We need help.

Something applicable across the country and I’m afraid hard to get across to people is to stop believing that the police are going to help. It’s really important to understand that the police are not your friend and will not protect the community
The federal blitz moved to Charlotte, but the trauma and damage in Chicago are still with us—and DHS says 1,000 agents will hit our streets in March. I wrote about what this moment demands of us: care, clarity, and preparation.
What Now, Chicago? Regrouping After Midway Blitz
Let’s make this a winter of fortification, of learning, and bonding together like the winter snow that federal agents are so afraid of.

Um.. this is kind of scary. I don’t think it’s normal to grow up wanting to hunt people

Help if you can
615 of the estimated 3,000+ detained immigrants who were kidnapped in Chicagoland during Midway Blitz are expected to be eligible for bond this week. The Midwest Immigration Bond Fund shows up for people in detention who need bond, but it costs, at minimum, $1,500 per person. Pls help them.

I didn’t know this was happening till I saw this article but I used to drive on BW parkway every morning and I can’t imagine the chaos a disruption this is causing. Leave these hard working people alone!
NEW—US Park Police w/ DHS officers near DC are increasingly pulling over Black and brown men, leaving their work vans on the side of the parkway + immediately calling a local towing company to take them. Families who just lost their breadwinner are stuck with the bill.

@melbuer.bsky.social reports:
Families of DC-area immigrant drivers snatched by feds stuck with tow bill
Elected officials and activists note work vehicles removed lightning fast, resulting in hundreds in fees.
