Same logic as why I don't trust most of the legacy media.
Every time it explains something you actually know about, it's bullshit.
Therefore, it is most likely bullshit about all the things you don't already know about.

So far, these are my two favourite descriptions of AI:

The media were called out directly over their coverage of the genocide in Gaza during SNP conference.

National Equalities Convener Sadie Matthews told them this as she spoke to members and journalists.

That's true. I couldn't honestly claim to teach a proper RME lesson 40 times per year, with the possible exception of when I include my unit on moral dilemmas and philosophy (and it's arguable that what we do there isn't really intended by the curriculum).

We could not teach religion in a secular country at all, and just teach philosophy?
There is a benefit to religious teaching in that they hopefully learn to respect other belief systems.
However, that could be reinforced as part of moral philosophy, about respecting others' culture and choices?

Why were Palestinians forced to negotiate an end to their own genocide⁉️

It's really quite repulsive that Palestinians have had to negotiate
an end to their genocide.

It should have been that the world put sanctions on Israel to stop the genocide.

Your conflating two commonly used but very different meanings of nationalism.
One to mean people believing their race, nationality or culture is superior.
(We have some like this, they're mostly unionists)
And one to mean the desire to have an independent nation state.
Like every other nation does.

Just watched Newsround with my class, they finally noticed Gaza.
But from the report, you would think there were two countries at war and they were showing you the mutual destruction.
Had to pause it and explain to all the kids that all the ruins were in Gaza, and it was being annihilated by Israel.
robconnell.bsky.social
Absolutely. It's just that, disgracefully, we never did stop this atrocity.

And it's not a constitutional question because there is no constitution. It's a question of democracy.
If the UK government were to set out a position, e.g. at least 10 years between votes and 2 elections with a pro-Indy majority, then there is a debate to be had.
But they totally refuse everything.
robconnell.bsky.social
And I'm sure you personally feel that you don't really have a horse in this race, but that's really the main point of the original post.
It's the parties that England votes into government that are refusing. That's the nub: Who should decide whether Scotland gets a referendum? Scotland or England?
robconnell.bsky.social
By that definition, every country who wanted independence from London has been guilty of the "nationalism" you dislike.
In Scotland, it's independence supporters who are broadly the internationalists / liberal left of centre. The folk who have typical "nationalist" views are almost all unionists.
robconnell.bsky.social
I agree, and you seem a reasonable person. So, let's add nuance to your position. Who should decide if and when Scotland can have the opportunity to leave this voluntary union?

It's a breath of fresh air to see journalists exposing the real stories for a change.

The UK is increasingly profitting from genocide & our government is demonstrably complicit.
