G'day! Here're portraits from my YA novel, METHANE.

Leela's so desperate to belong, she'd commit crimes. When she targets her twin's best friend, it threatens to rip her family apart.

Any ND or autistic writers out there?

Right is Leela, who has no friends, no future, barely tolerated by her parents. Insults and slurs mar her locker.
Middle is Leela's twin Cecile, a gifted musician who plays piano and violin.
Left is Madeline, a fashion designer and Cecile's best friend. She's wants Leela gone.

In 1981 Korea under Chun Doo-hwan's dictatorship, 22 people were arrested and tortured in a bunker for being in a bookclub with made up charges that were nothing but a blatant attempt to create terror for the citizenry in order to uphold and stabilize Chun's power grab.

Look at it this way: an opportunity to determine whether the listed agents want your genre/premise without the bother of waiting donkey months for a rejection or CNR in the query trenches.

Have you ever enjoyed an image from the Hubble Space Telescope? NASA astronauts risked their lives to launch that telescope, to repair it, and to service it, multiple times.

We have all relied on them to do this so that we can see the rest of the universe more up close. 🔭

This is compounded if you have auditory processing issues. You ask them to repeat, they don't say the full sentence, so you have to ask them to clarify their meaning, but it's still not clear, so you translate what you think they mean, get it wrong, and they're sighing in exasperation. 🙃

Sigh.

Why invite youth to develop and present their own art exhibition if you're just going to censor it when it scares your sensibilities.

Teen artists portrayed their lives — some adults didn't want to see the full picture

"What is it like to be a teen right now?" Young artists explored that question for two different exhibitions of their work this summer. But on the National Mall, their work was deemed too political.

Isn't it? And that's not to speak anything of the amount of water used in the process. We can talk about the everyman's environmental footprint but its also important to note that over 60% of emissions come from corps. And that's not even counting the fact that society encourages unsustainability.

Whether they attacked her because they thought she was a lesbian or trans, it boils down to looks, a boyish haircut (they used to be popular). How long before the only acceptable female standard is the Mar a Lago look: long hair, makeup put on with a trowel, and pneumatic lips and others bits?

A big misconception about Greenland is that since it’s labeled a Danish colony, its residents are just a bunch of white dudes named Kristian—which is extremely harmful and inaccurate.

The population is 85% Indigenous! It belongs to the Kalaallit people, not to Denmark and CERTAINLY not to the U.S.

There are risks to not recognizing ADHD! ADHD is more than hyperactivity & distraction - studies show a shortened lifespan and significant life struggles when it isn't properly managed.
