Thinking more and more about how much certain actors are pushing us towards a post-truth, post-data world, a world driven purely by narratives and vibes

It's not good.
The true contrast: Caps were multiple posts away from taking the lead before Messi struck
Never seen a team in MLS that punishes mistakes as ruthlessly as #InterMiami. Of course, no MLS team has had a player like Messi, but still, it's mind boggling. #MLSCup

Pupe coming on; he's been working *a lot* with Blackmon in training this week.

Whitecaps have sold nearly 20,000 tickets to today’s BC Place watch party. Game day tickets available online now or in person at the stadium starting at 10 am.

There are 2,000 Caps fan in Fort Lauderdale. So do the math: there will be more Caps fans watching the game in a stadium than Miami fans.

The entire pacific division collectively has 63 regulation wins and 86 regulation losses. An entire division kept afloat from gimmick post-regulation points. Only one team has a winning regulation record.

Amidst all this Linus Karlsson is legit having a very fun night. Guy’s figured the NHL out. Gonna be a handy depth winger for a while yet.

The #CanMNT's Group B is #8 out of 12 groups in average FIFA Ranking, and #12 out of 12 by average Elo Rating. IF you average the UEFA Playoff A teams' rankings, that is

If Italy qualifies, Group B becomes #2 out of 12 by FIFA Rankings, and #8 out of 12 by Elo Ratings. Big swing

It almost makes one forget 99 being stumped by Curaçao
“Mack-a-doe-nee-a” was a particular disgrace.

Just to re-iterate how embarrassing it was for Canada to be represented by a drunk no-nothing, coasting off a decades-old legacy. Wayne was an amazing player and obviously did manage *one* team to an incredible achievement in 2002, but him being unable to pronounce multiple countries was pathetic.

If you don’t want to watch FIFA’s unhinged Tim Roth movie about FIFA, do the next best thing and read my old blog post about it. I need my suffering to have meant something.

Spoke with Axel Schuster this week about his team's remarkable year -- and the fact that a serious potential investor, I've been told, was in attendance for the LAFC playoff game.

Nothing's set to be announced, but clearly the vibes are good in the boardroom.

North America is awash in F-150 SuperCab KidKrushers and this MFer is pretending fuel efficiency standards killed the station wagon.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

Covered one game in Montreal before the company axed travel and it was an absolute dream
Here we go from one of my favourite places to cover a game.

Most important one of the #NHLJets season so far? Without a doubt.

A raucous and emotional start to this one as the Montreal Canadiens and their fans honour Andrei Markov.

One of the loudest and longest sustained cheers I’ve heard. Along with some “Ole Ole Ole” chants.

Habs always do these ceremonies so well.

It brings me no pleasure to inform you that no NHL team pulls their goalie more than your Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks have pulled their goalie more than any other team
The Canucks are chasing the game constantly. It's hardly inspiring thinking about their near future.

Nikita Tolopilo and Elias Pettersson have been sent back to the AHL.

For D-Petey, it's to get some game time. He'll be back. Abby plays tonight so he could even be back tomorrow, but Canucks will progress based on what their own lineup needs.

Tolopilo will obviously get the start tonight.
