Chris Richards on playing at altitude. "I'm dead." #usmnt

Pochettino says Malik Tillman "felt something yesterday" and that's why he didn't dress. Alluded to a cramp in the hamstring. #usmnt

Pochettino says that Pulisic felt something in his hamstring. He'll be evaluated further. #usmnt

FT: #usmnt 2-1 Australia. Big nights for Wright and Roldan after the US fell behind. I'd say Balogun is still in the lead for the starting striker spot, but Wright making his case. Amazing to think where Roldan was two months ago, but he's in the thick of the WC roster competition now.

Terrific through ball from Roldan on a quickly taken free kick to put Wright 1-1 and he evaded his defender and curled his shot in. #usmnt

Goal #usmnt! It's that man Wright again.

HT: #usmnt 1-1 Australia. US bounces back after a slow start that saw Australia go ahead 1-0. That seemed to wake the US up from its lethargy and then equalize through Wright. Not sure why US isn't trying to get behind more as the space is there. Some heavy challenges by Australia got US fired up.

Goal #usmnt! Haji Wright with the authoritative finish after being put through by Roldan. 1-1 now.

Looks like Luna is coming on. #usmnt

Pulisic goes down again and looks like he's coming off. Not worth risking things further. Still disappointing not to see more of CP in this window. #usmnt

No one really went to the ball there for the #usmnt after the initial deflection.

Goal Australia. Jordan Bos collects a loose ball and weaves his way through the U.S. defense and scores. Basically Australia's first chance of the game. #usmnt

I know Sands is crafty on the ball, but I worry if there is enough bite to his game. Big test to see how much progress he's made in that area. #usmnt

Sands gets his first cap since the 2023 Gold Cup semifinal against Panama.

First time that McKenzie, Richards and Robinson start together.

82nd cap for Pulisic, tying him with Brad Friedel, Eddie Pope and Eddie Lewis for 24th on the all-time list.

10th straight start for Matt Freese. #usmnt
jeffreycarlisle.bsky.social
Tonight's starting XI for the #usmnt.

Freese; Miles Robinson, Richards, McKenzie; Weah, Sands, Roldan, Freeman; Pulisic, Wright, McKennie

Six changes, with a new central midfield pairing of Roldan and Sands. Looks like a 3-4-3, but we'll see once the game starts.

Ever wonder how #USWNT + #USMNT:

⚽️ Schedules opponents for friendlies?
🏟️ Picks cities/stadiums for games?
🎟️ Sets ticket prices?

Here's how, including real examples of why Germany came to East Hartford, and the game that won't happen next month in Seattle — because everything is interdependent.
Inside how U.S. Soccer chooses opponents, venues, prices for USMNT and USWNT matches
USMNT and USWNT fans often complain about high ticket prices, repetitive cities and weak opponents for games, but U.S. Soccer explains everything that goes into such decisions.

One more time for this story about Las Vegas Lights midfielder Daouda Peeters, and his comeback from Guillian-Barré syndrome. #USL-C
jeffreycarlisle.bsky.social
Daouda Peeters went from playing for Juventus, to being paralyzed from the waist down due to a rare neurological condition, to getting back on the field with the Las Vegas Lights of the USL-Championship. He spoke to ESPN about his long journey back.

Christian Pulisic was a full participant in training on Monday, and U.S. manager Mauricio Pochettino said he hopes the player "can be available" against Australia. Tough news for Antonee Robinson, however, as he's been ruled out due to knee pain. #usmnt

🇸🇷 Suriname had a rich soccer history cut short by tragedy & turmoil.

Now, Dutch-Surinamese players are looking to carry on the legacy of the players that came before them - becoming local heroes in the process.

My piece from Paramaribo for @espn.com: www.espn.com/soccer/story...
Dutch-born players are making Suriname's World Cup dreams a reality
Thanks to a recent change in FIFA rules, Suriname is drawing on its Dutch lineage to fuel a fight for a place in the 2026 World Cup.

Now that Rush has a female drummer, there will be at least one woman in the building during their concerts.
