Friends, we are running a winter coats and trainers donation drive. We are seeing lots of new arrivals wearing flip flops/t-shirts & shorts, who are in need of warm clothing. CLEAN and GOOD condition items only please. Drop off at the Lambeth Civic Centre, or one of Active Lambeth leisure centres.
Winter coat & trainers appeal: please help families in need by donating winter coats & trainers - CLEAN AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION - men’s coats urgently needed - appeal running from 15 September to 17 November - drop off items at Active Lambeth gyms and at the Lambeth Civic Centre
One of these pervy fuckers was just spying on me and when I clocked him, flew off to join his creepy mates. How I loathe them.
Three parakeets on a tree, the odious, sqwaking bellends.
I must confess I dunked hard on said uniform, but prayed for its return when faced with his final episode ‘fit: the striped longsleeved shirt paired with short-shorts. Mine eyes!
I was sad after holiday so I went on a book buying spree! 2025 Forward Prize bundle, Pat Barker’s women of Troy trilogy & Emily Wilson’s translation of The Odyssey so I can join in the Instant Classics podcast book club :)
A stack of paperback books, from top to bottom:
The Silence of the Girls - Pat Barker
The Women of Troy - Pat Barker
The Voyage Home - Pat Barker
Heirloom - Catherine Esther-Cowie
Chaotic Good - Isabelle Baafi
Goonie - Michael Mullen
I Sugar the Bones by Juana Adcock
Southernmost: Sonnets - Leo Boix
Altar - Desree
The Island in the Sound - Niall Campbell
Wellwater - Karen Solie
Theophanies - Sarah Ghazal Ali
Avidya - Vidyan Ravinthiran
The Odyssey - Homer, translated by Emily Wilson
never a more apt use of that gif :)
I need to publicly and fulsomely thank you for your correct stance on Withnail & I, which *isn’t* funny but *is* bad and wrong.
So was it one of those merely decorative car parks that definitely exist for consumption of space only and not for parking vehicles?
I say yes but also your labour is worth money and should not be free. And I would be first to commission a portrait of Nina & Simone <3
I found a bunch of Kitty…Vismund Kitty’s toys and I’m chuffed that Simone also loves one of his favourites, a wooden spinning top I got in an Xmas cracker. She even engages with it in the same way he did: tackling it from all angles, picking it up in her mouth to sprint off & kill.😻
Is the book in question The Longest Bloom by Rashah Solun? (Currently on my TBR list)

I’m fine until edit o’clock at which point firey panic takes over 😬
In a very real sense: word.
Why are we like this tho
Not a movie, but Mark Twain’s hagiography was really doe-eyed. Entirely humour free as well.
*gad god fucking dammit autocorrect!
While we had about I Sardinia, Gran has been kindly sending updates. This one of Simone is my favourite.
Simone, a tabby kitty, snoozes awkwardly, face first , supported by a paw, on a sofa

I wrote about the ascendance of Bari Weiss from a hack columnist to media royalty, and what it means for the future of CBS News.

I got space invaders but I think I snapped it just a wee bit too late.
