Turnout tonight in every caucus that I’ve been able to check in with people on so far has said that this was the largest attendance in recent memory. That was certainly my experience in 66 tonight. Yes, democratic institutions are important, but the real power of democracy will always be the people.

Counter offer: No. Y'all can just leave. Normally, I would not advocate building more prisons, but I am pretty sure we can build some pretty cut rate ones that have lots of room outside to experience our winters for when all y'all get prosecuted for this down the line. We can even name it for you.
Pam Bondi's conditions for Minnesota: 1) give us all your state data on your food programs, including SNAP 2) repeal all your sanctuary policies in the state (since it has led to "so much crime and violence") and 3) hand over your state voting rolls. Letter here: www.fox9.com/news/minneap...

A core city service should be preventing abductions rather than parking the cars of the abductees.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

The insurrection act threat today is particularly chilling in Minnesota. One thing that almost no one has paid attention to is that there are two special elections in two weeks. If you were an authoritarian testing the waters, that might be your best opportunity for a low risk trial run.

Main Street > C suite. Any Ward would be lucky to have CM Cashman, and Ward 7 should vote to give her another term.
rudy funkmeyer on the ward 7 race between katie cashman and elizabeth shaffer:

"Whether you are moderate or progressive, Katie will fight for you. I’ve seen and heard enough to know that Elizabeth Shaffer will only fight for the C-Suite."

Election Day is in seven days. While most voters are paying attention to the Mayor’s race, I have been deeply involved in my City Council…

This was one of the starkest debates I have seen in recent memory. CM Cashman is so knowledgeable and fluent on the details of the challenges and solutions that Minneapolis is facing. Also, she’s kind and friendly. Plus a great track record. Ward 7 should send her back for another term!
Cashman did really well tonight. Benefited from knowing the job after two years doing it. She was happy to own being the progressive candidate. Shaffer was hedging answers in a way that made me think she's not confident with the more conservative lane she used to win the DFL endorsement.

This is all I’m really asking for: Get Stephen Root to reprise his role of Jimmy James from NewsRadio, and have him be the general manager of RoH.
Stephen Root and Wayne Duvall were at ROH death before dishonor

Or talk to literally another single, solitary renter who has expressed issues with unaffordability, lack of access, and having to make choices about rent vs groceries or medicine or tuition. Housing is unaffordable for too many RIGHT NOW, even if these “decreases” are relevant.
I am fucking BEGGING the centrist dolts breathlessly posting that article about how "rents are falling fast" to employ one single, solitary ounce of intellectual integrity and see that the source is "Five Star Cash Offer, a real estate investment firm that operates as a direct cash homebuyer."

If there is ever an installment of the Metal Gear franchise set in Minneapolis, I hope this is included as dialogue.
I survived two Ward 10 conventions in the span of two years. I was at the Storming of the Stage. I saw an honest-to-God Mondale get shoved in Ward 7 this year. I watched the purge in Ward 2. You have nothing to teach me about the norms and procedures of political conventions.

Scott Jensen’s extremism has no place in our politics. They handed this out at the Fair in 2022, and had no comment on it at the time. It was disqualifying then. It is disqualifying now.

Coming from The New York Times, this is peak Spiderman pointing at Spiderman meme. At this point, we can expect both WaPo and NYT to jointly publish a think piece “Is it finally time to stop shunning your fascist enabling press?” And its related piece, “Why did Zorhan Mamdani make us do this?”
Here’s the full memo:

My first job in politics was interning for Sen. Smith. She is a national treasure, and we're gonna miss her in the Senate.
They’re citing a think tank that’s actively gutting child labor laws… I’ll stick to trusting the CBO (which clearly states the big, beautiful bill is a giant pile of bullshit)

Here's what I want to know, who is financing Carol Becker's so-called news website? I know I got added to their email list. The bottom said "a friend" referred me. I emailed them twice to ask which friend and have never gotten an answer. How'd you get my email for your influencer campaign, Carol?
Now I’m not a defamation lawyer, but if I were Carol Becker, idk that I’d be going around publicly accusing people of violating campaign finance laws and being secretly paid by campaigns to be a social media influencer
i’m the subject of a carol becker conspiracy theory in this month’s southside pride letters to the editor regarding cam gordon’s “follow the money: landlords spend big in city election” article that quoted me -
